Interview conducted with drummer Adam.

1. You guys are from the UK which is starting to be a breeding ground for metal bands, what do you guys think of the scene over there?

I think the metal scene over here is still massive and it's constantly growing. For years we've been through many scenes and different changes but metal has seemed to be the only thing that has stayed with us, with bands like Bring Me The Horizon, Architects, The Eyes Of A Traitor and Bullet For My Valentine making their name around America and all over Europe it just shows that the UK is constantly progressing with metal even making changes to it and adding new ideas along the way.

2. What can we expect from the new videos and songs?

We haven't been in talks about any videos as of yet but if we made a video we would want everyone to watch it and think we are a band who actually are out just to play shows, play to our full potential and show everyone that our shows are not one to miss. As for new songs we are constantly writing new songs for an ever changing set list. What we want to get out of our music is something all of up appreciate and what we all enjoy, we aren't trying to fit into any music scene or with any certain people, We write what we want and if you guys are enjoying it it's a bonus!

3. For people who haven't heard of you, how would you describe the sound of the band?

It would be hard to describe our band because we take a lot of influences from many different places and we have a lot of different sounds, all of our songs seem to sound like they were all wrote by different bands. We are mainly a metal/hardcore/progressive band. That's what we like to think we are going for anyway.

4. How's the new material coming along? When can we see a release date?

The new material is coming down great we've played it at a lot of shows and got nothing but good responses. Some of our new songs haven't been played yet because we are forever changing them and putting new riffs in. A release date for an ep hasn't been established yet as we are still trying to find a place to record and we are all busy with our lives. I can say that we will definitely have new demos by the winter.

5. How did you guys hook up with Sink Or Swim Records?

Well they message us through myspace saying they are looking for newer bands and they really like our sound. I'm really happy them guys had found us because things will only get bigger with them guys behind us. They are already funding our demo and always searching for new shows and sponsors I can't thank them enough for what they've done for us already.

6. What's your thoughts on illegal music downloading

I honestly don't know what to say about it. It does get me angry when a bands trying to get somewhere and all you hear is how everyones downloaded the new album or ripped their songs off myspace, but then i just think to myself there is nothing that can be done about it because no matter how hard you try there is always gonna be a source or a website which will allow you to get artist's music.

7. What is your favorite song to play live and why?

Honestly, I like to play our whole set over and over because it's got so much energy and we've mixed all our music with many different sounds. One minute it will be melodic chord progression which will then turn into a really heavy breakdown. Theres so much that goes on within the set it's really hard to select just one of our songs

8. What are you guys currently listening to?

We are all listening to lots of different music and different genres one minute we'd be listening to explosions in the sky the next it would be Cult Of Luna and then we'd listen to some dance music or even some rap. We all have a very wide selection in music which helps make our sound unique and different.

9. What's next for Confined?

Hopefully for Confined it's gonna be nothing but good things. Once we have this EP recorded it's gonna be a big step up for all of us because we'll be able to publish and promote our music to new and different people. We're also looking forward to the tours we are arranging and it would be awesome if those tours were with our label artists who knows though. At the moment we are all so happy with whats going on that something really huge would have to happen for it to be the next step.

10. Any shoutouts?

We'd like to give a shout out to Tenfeettall, Sinking Ship Promotions and every band we've shared the stage, every band in Teesside and to all the people who have ever seen us at a show or visited our Myspace listened to the music, downloaded a song and watched our video on Youtube.
