1. How did the band come together and form?
Jon, myself (joe) and Ryan played in bands together before and after awhile of not being in bands we got together and started to write some new music we had a really hard time finding another guitar player but we ended up meeting gage in ocean city maryland while playing on the boardwalk and we got to talking and had him come down and try out and we all kind've just fell together and formed.
2. How did you guys come up with the name "Atlantic Avenue"?
Atlantic Avenue is/was the name for the Ocean City Boardwalk
3. You guys finished up a Hot Topic tour here in PA, how did that go?
The tour went great! alot better than we expected considering no one knew who we were we kind've just booked it and hoped for the best, we met alot of cool kids at the malls they were really friendly and we got to hang out and eat mall food for an entire week, hot topics staff was really welcoming too and friendly and we're excited to do it again later on this year.
4. We heard you guys are going in Century Studios to record a cover song, can we get a hint on what it will be? Why that song in particular?
we are going into century studios on july 26th to record with Carson Slovak who we've worked with before, we're doing "our song" by taylor swift who is from our hometown, our drummer actually went to Junior high with her, we chose that song because its one of those songs that everytime you hear it, it just puts you in a good mood and is just fun to play. We played acoustic versions of it during the hot topic tour and got a big response from it so we're excited to put our spin on it
5. Some of you were in bands before this one, what have you learned in those bands that could translate to positivity in this one?
Ryan Jon and myself have been playing together for a few years and have been through ups and downs with other band members and i think the big thing we always need to remember is why we got into music in the first place..because we love playing. Also we learned ego's can develop really really quickly so we all have each others back to keep one another in check and just have fun...otherwise whats the point.
6. What are some of your influences?
Some of our influences would prolly be more pop/rock style bands, we're big fans of nine days, third eye blind, we love t-pain and of course blink 182 is one of the reasons we all kind've got into playing music.
7. What are your thoughts on illegal music downloading?
Who cares? if it wasn't for free downloading most bands would never make it and we would be missing out on some good music
8. What are three PA based bands that you would love to tour with?
The Starting Line (if they still are together) would be amazing, Poison just to hang out with Brett Michaels
9. What are you guys currently listening to?
The New Boys Like Girls Single, and New Friday Night Boys CD
10. What's next for Atlantic Avenue?
Recording, Shows, More Recording, Shows repeat repeat repeat...
