Sounds like: Punk Rock

1. How did you get started with music and how did you develop your sound? Who thought of the name “Bear Fight” and is there any meaning behind it?

We have all been playing music since we were kids and have been playing together for a number of years now in a few different bands. When we started Bear Fight we wanted to keep true to the original punk sound but make songs that had some harmony & were catchy but not be considered pop punk. Brownie literally thought of the name of the band half asleep. We liked it because it sounded tough. Not realizing that it had a meaning in the gay community and referred to a combination of alcoholic beverages. A Yeager Bomb & an Irish Car Bomb.

2. How's the new music coming along?

At the moment new music is coming slower than normal because we have been playing so many shows. But we are slowing down our show schedule to work on new music for a full length album.

3. What can people look forward to from your new music?

There will be a few songs that are not so complex and are very basic, straight forward, punk. Short & sweet. It's good to have a mixture of styles to appeal to others but at the same time not stray from our sound.

4. What can people expect from your live show?

I like to think that even if you don't like our music we are entertaining live. We put on a good, energetic show and try to be funny in between songs. Sometimes failing miserably.

5. Who are three bands you’d like to tour with?

Bands that we would like to tour with, in our genre, !OFF, The Bronx, Descendents, and the Adolescents.

6. Any crazy show stories?

Yes but those are not to be spoken of. Just kidding, not really.

7. What’s your take on the current state of punk rock?

The current state of punk rock is okay. There are some really great local bands out there. Great punk legends that have come back to tour. But there are no new bands that are making it big.

8. What’s the current music scene like there in the California both locally and state wide?

There are these little pockets out there. A group of bands that play Orange County, a group that plays the Inland Empire, a group that plays LA and so on. Each area the musical style and preference change a bit.

9. What’s your take on legal/illegal music downloading?

I don't care too much about it. Either way it's bound to happen.

10. What’s next for Bear Fight?

Next up, new songs for our full length album. We will be making a video soon. And we will have another song on MTV's new season of Fantasy Factory.

11. Any shoutouts?
