Sounds like: Rock

Something Like Sound from Norristown, Pennsylvania is a band whose bio reads that they combines influences of Alternative, Indie, Rock, Hip-hop, Punk, Grunge, Folk and Pop to create their own unique indescribable sound. "A Far Cry From Philadelphia" is a slow journey of an opener that exposes an indie rock sound. It's a multi dimensional track that helps set the emotional tone early. "Shooting Star Syndrome" is a rockin' good time of a track that brings to mind Haim. It treads the line between rock and pop quite nicely. "She Moves Like Fire" is a toe tapper of a track and will surely be a fan favorite. The track features an eruption of passion near the end of the track that has to be heard to be believed. "Green Jeans And War Weeks" changes things up a bit with the lead male vocals that charges along with the acoustic sound through the track. The two minute track is a nice change of pace and fits together nicely. "Pick Up The Phone" is a minute long interlude of a track that features some symphonic sounds and transitions into the next track "The Words I Should Have Said". The track is a highly emotional, building track that really shines. "Taylor's Song" is an incredible track that should not be missed. The pop/rock/hip hop influence on the track is on point and it's highly infectious. This track screams single! "Battle Hymn" closes things out in a hip hop fashion. The track is a little over a minute long but the bars within are fierce and ends the release on an interesting note.

Verdict:
This release from Something Like Sound opens up the doors for fans of indie rock to come in and enjoy their diverse brand of music.
