"Den Of Thieves" Music Video

1. How did you get started with music and how did you develop your sound?

Rising Enemy is the collective minds from the remaining members of The Vine That Ate The South. Officially formed in 2015, Rising Enemy has released 3 songs officially as well as a music video. Adding final members in 2015 and early 2016 has helped us to expand on each others knowledge of music and drive us to be better as a band.

2. Who thought of the name Rising Enemy and is there meaning behind it?

Absolutely, the name was thought up by our guitarist Casey, and it just seemed to fit. In a time when simple ways of life become criminal, and you become an enemy to the state or “big Brother”, that is when we must rise up and look for unity not more separation. We want a name that people can relate to, and music being that glue that can bring us all together… even if the only common ground is music, at least it is common ground for all.

3. What do you want listeners to take away from your single “Cody Doesn’t Drink Hard A”?

Actually that was the first song we ever wrote. It used to be called “Stay Away From Me” .. and then we realized almost every band has a song named pretty much that. In short our singer Cody had a really rough night and has thus decided to not put himself in that situation again. Likewise the meaning behind our song is about getting away from a toxic/poisonous person or situation.

4. What can people expect from your live show?

High Energy! Crunchy Riffs! Face Melting leads! HAIR FLIPPIES!!! You can expect to come out and feel involved with our show. We love getting out and playing and that energy definitely spills over to the crowd.

5. What is your favorite track to play live?

A song that we are actually in the process of recording called “Show Me Something New”.

6. Who are three bands you would like to tour with?

Chevelle, Stitched Up Heart, and Smile Empty Soul.

7. Any crazy show stories?

Who doesn’t have crazy show stories? Whether it be trying to make it to shows on time when you have vehicle problems to being booked to follow a band of clowns with rubber chicken props. You never know what to expect anymore. Either way it is an experience.

8. What is your take on the current state of rock?

That is a tough question. It has never gone away and it will never die that is for sure, but it doesn’t seem to be the main focus in music anymore. People would rather listen to digital beats and hip hop for now, but we feel that rock is going to make a gnarly comeback to take back its rightful place as leader of the music industry.

9. What is the music scene like there in Washington both locally and state wide?

Locally has definitely been tough due to venues closing and a small scene for live music. As far as state wide there is some awesome talent coming out of Washington right now with some of the best venues in the country to play at.

10. What’s your take on legal and illegal music downloading?

That’s really a pretty simple question. If you rip a song from an artist then just pay to buy it. If people want artists to keep performing or writing new material then the fans need to show their support. It’s not like when you have to buy a whole album or cd anymore, if you like a song then buy it.

11. What's next for Rising Enemy?

We are currently working in studio to finish our EP as well as writing new material for our full length album.

12. Any shoutouts?

Jimmy at Amplified Wax for all his work getting our songs mastered and Tony Moser from Dead Suits Productions for his awesome job on our music video “Den Of Thieves”.
