Sounds like: Technical/Progressive Metal

Glass Idols are a Technical/Progressive Metal band from Tennessee that released this EP late last year. Let's go back and see what they're all about. The EP kicks off with the longest track on the release, "Incubus". The track opens up with a somber lullaby type tone which leads into a more atmospheric vibe. It then proceeds to obliterate everything in its path with a ferocious form of Metal. The breakdowns are extremely crushing and later in the track shows a more Progressive side. It's a real treat of an opener. "Set" continues the crushing onslaught and expands it even further. The technical aspects mixed with the synth effects make a truly unique track to jam out to. There's a slight Between The Buried And Me vibe to the track that will surely draw in fans. "Coyote" is an haunting track that unleashes hell on the listener (in a good way). The track has so much depth to it that any fan of Metal will enjoy it. It's a very enjoyable track to get lost in. "Moros" is the shortest and most unique track on the release. The track is a technical masterpiece and for two exhilarating minutes, Glass Idols seem to just jam away with no concern. "Echo" opens with an 8 bit breakdown before barreling forward with a Metalcore tinged sound. The track will get the live crowd moving with its blistering riffs and Progressive tendencies. The end breakdown is phenomenal on the track. "Akop" is chaotic in all of the right ways. The track is full of melody and is a Progressive Metal hit in the making. It's so damn good. "Pandora" is an emotional journey of a track that takes the listener to even greater heights. It's a Melodic Metal stand out that will be a fan favorite in no time. The guitar solo on the track is top notch. The ambient closing track "Janus" settles things down and wraps things up nicely. After such a whirlwind of fury, it's nice to have a comedown track. Metal fans will eat this release up for sure.

Verdict:
Glass Idols take no prisoners with their destructive "Wraith" EP.
