Sounds like: Metalcore

Cadence Calling from Toronto have made quite a name for themselves in the local Metal scene lately with their newest EP. Let's dive in and see what they bring to the table. The blistering first single "The Accounts of Evil" begins with a gnarly guitar riff before breaking into a flurry of Metalcore sound. The production is outstanding as the ferocious riffs, pounding drums and powerful vocals are on full display. The breakdowns come in like a runaway freight train and is simply chaotic. The track rages on before eventually giving away to the grand finale of an off the rails Metalcore sound that has to be heard to be believed "Skeletons" kicks off with a thunderous breakdown before breaking into a high paced Metalcore track that doesn't know when to give up. The track explodes with intensity and creates a carnage in its wake. "A Promise of Forever" brings up shades of Bury Tomorrow and their melodic Metalcore stylings. The track has tons of depth and really showcases the talents of the band perfectly. "The Recluse" is technically driven and creates a sound that helps separate itself from the rest of the tracks on the EP. The track has a controlled chaos to it as it barrels full speed ahead. It's dark, heavy and unrelenting. "Apathetic" is an exciting track that has a crazy energy to it while still delivering on the earth shattering breakdowns. Metalcore fans will eat up this track immediately. The closer "Sleepless Nights" slows things down a bit in the beginning but it's like the calm before the storm as it eventually erupts with fierce brutality. The track closes things up on what's possibly the heaviest sound on the entire EP. It's a crushing finale to an outstanding EP.

Verdict:
The new EP from Cadence Calling intends to smash all the boundaries of the Metalcore genre.
