1. How did you get started with music and how did you develop your sound? Who thought of the name “Kingdom Faust” and is there any meaning behind it?
Kyle and Justin originally came up with the name. The inspiration comes from "Dante's Inferno".
2. What do you want people to take away from your music?
A journey, a different experience. That is what we strive for.
3. How would you describe your sound to the average listener?
A melting pot of genres, yet still cohesive and with substance. Heavy, groovy, with hints of progressive, all wrapped in chaos.
4. Who are three bands you’d like to tour with?
Cannibal Corpse, Nile, and Suffocation.
5. What are your three desert island albums that you'd never get tired of listening to?
Tyler - Candlemass - Nightfall, Manowar - Kings Of Metal, and Megadeth - Peace Sell.
Kyle - Isis - Oceanic, Death - Human, and Immortal - Sons of the Northern Darkness.
Justin - Death - The Sound of Perseverance, Opeth - Blackwater Park, and Emperor - Anthems.
Pootie - Replacire - Do Not Deviate, Dethklok - Dethalbum 1, and Pallbearer - Sorrow and Extinction.
Mike - Suffocation - Pierced From Within, Cannibal Corpse - Eaten Back to Life, and Sinister - Syncretism.
6. What’s your take on the current state of Metal?
Mainstream metal seems stagnant and overproduced now days, with maybe a good album here and there. The good stuff is in the underground and local metal scenes, where its thriving.
7. What’s the current music scene like there in South Carolina both locally and state wide?
Locally is actually really good. SC has a lot of tremendous bands and hidden talent. I would recommend anyone go to a local show in SC. You're guaranteed to find something you like. Region-wide, it seems to be pretty good as well. We've had the pleasure of playing with some incredible underground artists from Boston, Florida, and even West Virginia. The southeast and east coast as a whole are really strong.
8. What’s your take on legal/illegal music downloading?
We all have different opinions on it, some are indifferent, and some are against. For the most part, we all agree that with the internet, in the current state, downloading illegally is an inevitability.
9. What’s next for Kingdom Faust?
We are working on some big things for 2018. We're currently writing a new album, that we are working diligently to put out by the end of the year. As well as getting some really good shows lined up. 2018 looks like its going to be the year for Kingdom Faust.
