"Dead Religion" Album Review
Malta Metal band Align The Tide recently released this full length album featuring the single "Welcome To Hell" so let's take a look and listen as to what they're all about. "Intro" features a slow build up before eventually blasting into some heavier Metal riffs and a massive breakdown. The track is purely instrumental but definitely sets the heavy tone. "Comedown" comes in like a sledgehammer and just destroys everything in its path. The track is fast, heavy and lets loose with an aggressive Metalcore sound that hearkens back to the early days of Parkway Drive. "Blacklist" has a bit of a southern draw and bit to it. The track speeds through its three minute length with an intensity that will surely get the mosh pits forming in no time. "Dead Religion" is crunchy and relentless. The track has the goods by way of its breakdowns and incredible riffs. The headbanging appeal of the track is off the charts. "Dark Passenger" has some Slipknot tendencies to it. The track is extremely heavy and features some soaring melody. The melody doesn't overtake the track though as it's a blistering example of high quality Metal. "Retribution" stomps forward with an earth pounding Metal sound that keeps the frantic pace at a high level. There's a lot to like on the track as a fan of Metal as it keeps the riffs and breakdowns coming early and often. "Stillborn" is more Progressive sounding than the previous tracks. It's a departure in sound but it creates a darker vibe thus making this a track that really stands out. The depth on the track is phenomenal. "Lucid Life" is more modern Metalcore of a sound. The track twists and turns with spectacular guitar riffs, breakdowns and shades of melody. "Welcome To Hell" is the lead single and opens up with an unbridled intensity that pulls in the listener. Things get taken up a notch as it transitions into an even higher gear. The track evens out a bit before a top notch guitar solo takes over. When the guitar solo is over, the track keeps up the aggression and has a slight August Burns Red feel to it. The spoken word verse adds another dynamic to the already intricate track. The end of the track is a roller coaster of determined rage as it twists and turns before ending with a crazy, chaotic finish. Align The Tide have created an epic, near seven minute track that draws the line in the sand. "The Golden Throne" is a bonus track that closes out the album on a high note. The track is a perfectly example of what Align The Tide are all about and helps make the listener yearn for even more.

Verdict:
Align The Tide aren't messing around with their newest full length album.
