-Interview- (4/13/17)
1. How did you get started with music and how did you develop your sound? Who thought of the name “The Emergency Please” and is there any meaning behind it?

The Emergency Please was formed as a song writing vehicle for some new music I had started writing. I began working with various session players, and went under the name The Emergency Please. My old band when I was younger was called Emergency Please. I always liked the name so I decided to stick a The on the front.

2. What do you want listeners to take away from your "Still Good" single?

"Still Good" is an introduction to us but since then we've been honing in our sound. Our new EP "Remember You" is the next evolution in our sound. We're really excited for it come out.

3. What can people expect from your live show?

100% I will be drenched in sweat by the end haha. We put out a lot of energy. I think getting to see a band play live is kind of the full package. We also love improvised jams so no two shows are the same.

4. What's your favorite track to play live?

"I Can't Stop" off the new record ("Remember You"). It's got a nice mellow groove but then builds up into a big chorus. It's really fun to play and writing it was pretty therapeutic.

5. Who are three bands you’d like to tour with?

Don Broco, Darwin Deez and First Ghost.

6. Any crazy show stories?

We played in the UK's worst voted club once for a festival. It was pretty sick (in every way). We all got wrecked it was a laugh.

7. What’s your take on the current state of Rock?

There's a lot of great bands out there right now...First Ghost, Bay Fiction, Dry Jacket to name a few. It seems Rock has shy'd away from the mainstream but I think it's due for a comeback.

8. What’s the current music scene like there in the UK both locally and country wide?

There's a decent diversity in genres that are going about at the moment. Pop music is still takes the biggest piece but there's a fair bit of variation within pop music itself but it doesn't seem to be what's getting the main attention. There's a lot of artists you see online who you hear and think, shit why doesn't everybody know about this? It's kind of the downside of having so much information really available for everyone. I think a lot of people are reminiscing about the mid 2000s pop punk/emo times and that seems to be making a comeback.

9. What’s your take on legal/illegal music downloading?

It's not something I do but I don't really judge people for doing it.

10. What’s next for The Emergency Please?

We've got our first music video in May which is the first single from our debut EP, "Remember You". We'll release the EP shortly after and follow up with a lot of gigging. We've already have new material prepared we can't wait for people to hear!

11. Any shoutouts?

Quay West Studios, Ben Marks, Dan Dean and to however invited the macaroon, love that shit!
