"Tales From The Slimehole" EP Review
Disease Party are a Metal band from Connecticut that are unapologetic in everything they do. They come full force with everything they have and aim to leave a long lasting impression on the listener, with their music doing the talking. The opening track "Gravy Boat" is technical from the start and keeps the riffs coming at a frantic pace. The track feature some bouncy breakdowns and killer vocals that bring to mind Shadows Fall or even the technical prowess of Blood Has Been Shed. "Serrated Facials" goes for the jugular right away. The track is moshtastic and clocking in as the shortest track, really packs the most punch. "Wayne Vs The Fly" has some early Emmure to it as it veers into Deathcore but with some shades of melody. It's a solid track and really takes things up a notch. "Extinction Burst" has shades of A Life Once Lost to it as it plows forward with such technical intensity that it'll make even the purest of Metal fan stand at notice. Later in the track it delves deeper into the abyss and pulls out a spectacular sound of aggression. "Monkey Tongue" is a track that never slows down. The track goes full speed ahead and destroys everything in its path with a raw Metal sound that simply pulverizes. "Hookers On Bath Salts" closes out the EP with an On Broken Wings type sound. The track twists and turns into Metalcore with a dash of Death Metal. It's a really nice closer to will really strike a chord with Metal fans everywhere.

Disease Party are unapologetic in their approach to their Metal sound.

-Interview- (8/29/17)
1. How did you get started with music and how did you develop your sound? Who thought of the name “Disease Party” and is there any meaning behind it?

So I'm pretty sure most all of our dads started us up on the guitar, and fast forward a decade or two and we all ended up in the right place at the right time on Facebook and just added each other and started jammin. Disease Party was one of our guitarists kinda side projects and we just kinda figured that was us now, an infectious ball drop.

2. What do you want people to take away from your "Tales From The Slimehole" EP?

Fun and that raw can still be polished and that it's just what you can get from what we created, whether it be a little of nothing or a lot of something.

3. What's your favorite track to play live?

We're all pretty different on this, some tracks or more challenging live cause they're more in depth or more fun cause they're easier but all in all "Wayne vs The Fly" is pretty mid range for fun and a challenge.

4. Who are three bands you’d like to tour with?

Locally? definitely Intercourse, Gadgets, and Imperium Mortis, as for big bands, though we may not entirely fit their style, Converge, The Red Chord, and Rings of Saturn, we got the chunk topping.

5. What are your three desert island albums that you'd never get tired of listening to?

Maudlin of the Well, Gorguts, Steely Dan, Cryptopsy, Dillinger Escape Plan, and Between The Buried And Me.

6. What’s your take on the current state of Metal?

You really have to dig deep to find bands that are inspired and aren't just up all on that doo dada doo doo shiz.

7. What’s the current music scene like there in Connecticut both locally and state wide?

CT needs more all ages shows (bars are fun to play but a lot of people who are 7 shots in don't remember any bands) and there's a lot of real talent but people need to step out of their comfort zones.

8. What’s your take on legal/illegal music downloading?

There are worse crimes that do nothing except negative consequences for people, it may be a crime but the positive side of downloading illegally is that people get to hear someones music, that's worth it we think.

9. What’s next for Disease Party?

What's next? Maybe a Slim Jim/Lil Chubs sponsorship. other than that, writing, recording, walking our pets, and getting sticky.

10. Any shoutouts?

Wayne, Aron, our Moms and Dads, Jeff Goldblum, Jess, Angie, Mike Lackey, Roma Pizza, all of our friends an family, anyone we missed, Chauncey, The Sliz and Crispo.
