HELL HAS COME TO YOUR HOUSE
Night Goat are abrasive, slashing, dark noise rock with elements of goth, post-punk and doom. Not for the weak of heart, they challenge listeners with a barrage of unhinged sludge punk and death rock, owing to an almost supernatural regard of classic bands of the genre like Samhain, Unsane, 45 Grave, Eyehategod, and even Sonic Youth.
Their debut album Milk, was released in late 2019 and received rave reviews throughout the underground. In 2020 the band followed up with a split release with good friends Ghost:Hello on European label Interstellar Smoke Records. 2021 found Night Goat added to a Samhain Tribute. The band does an explosive cover of the Samhain classic Moribund. The tribute album titled World Without End has been released on Black Donut Records. The band spent early 2022 recording their sophomore full-length TOTEM which will be released in 2023 on Portland Oregon's Black Donut Records.
Night Goat stays very busy touring regionally and are planning to tour heavily across the US in 2023.

-Interview- (2/13/23)
1. How did you get started with music and how did you develop your sound? Who thought of the name "Night Goat" and is there any meaning behind it?
We've all been in different bands over the years. We specifically started messing around with heavier and noisier music about five years ago. Night Goat started from that. The name comes from an ultra cool Melvins song but it fit our dark noisy music as well .
2. What do you want people to take away from your music?
I'd like them to appreciate it for what it is. We definitely try to push things in interesting directions and appeal to the spooky kids!
3. How would you describe your sound to the average listener?
Dark, savage and vicious.
4. Who are three bands you’d like to tour with?
Danzig, Killing Joke, and Godflesh.
5. How has Covid affected what you do?
More than anything it has affected the amount of people going to shows. The attendance is just not what it was pre-pandemic.
6. What’s your take on the current state of Death Rock?
It's glorious! So awesome to see so many interesting takes on the genre and bands celebrating the darkness!
7. What's the current music scene like there in Ohio?
It's pretty good. There's tons of great bands. The Ohio Doom scene in particular is really great with a massive amount of talented musicians.
8. What’s your take on the royalties that streaming services pay out to artists?
Honestly I don't sweat that stuff too much. I think of streaming as a necessary for a band at least our level who are just trying to reach as many people as possible. I guess if we were at the level of a band like Slayer or something we'd be more comfortable making the call on whether to do it or not.
9. What’s next for Night Goat?
Releasing our second album on March 17th through Portland Oregon label Black Donut Records! It's called "TOTEM" and it's a banger! East coast and Southern USA tour in July!
10. Any shoutouts?
Shout-out to our friends in bands who are out their grinding away and releasing incredible music!
