"Please Don't Leave" EP Review
Rounding Third are an up and coming band from Michigan which puts their spin on the Pop Punk sound as they intertwine some Indie Rock stylings into the mix. Let's dive in their EP and see what they're all about. The title track "Please Don't Leave" starts off with a riff which slowly builds up along with the melodic vocals. The instrumentation gets a little louder with the addition of drums. The track eventually explodes with a wall of soaring Rock sound. The vocals take it to the upper atmosphere and the catchy appeal is off the charts. The track overall is a roller coaster of passion and emotion. The closing track is a cover of the Bruce Springsteen track "Atlantic City". Rounding Third puts their twist on the track while still staying true to the original. The track has some Pop Punk pep to it and gives off a fun vibe to it. Two songs is not nearly enough as we can't wait to hear more from this promising band!

Verdict:
Rounding Third brings their unique style to the Pop Punk genre with their newest EP.

-Interview- (3/19/18)
1. How did you get started with music and how did you develop your sound? Who thought of the name “Rounding Third" and is there any meaning behind it?

Started playing music in high school, 2012ish. We all went to the same high school and loved pop punk so thought we would try our hand at it. We played in different music groups and finally came together as Rounding Third in 2015. Our singer Evan came up with the name. He is a big baseball fan and thought it would be funny hearing his band name on the radio/tv during games!

2. What do you want people to take away from your music?

We want people to just have a good time while listening to us. Hopefully they can connect with the lyrics and have the music help them somewhat, like how we have had music help us in our tough times.

3. How would you describe your sound to the average listener?

Pop punk with an indie twist.

4. Who are three bands you’d like to tour with?

Menzingers, Boston Manor, and Modern Baseball (if they get back together).

5. What are your three desert island albums that you'd never get tired of listening to?

The Party Scene - All Time Low
American Slang - Gaslight Anthem
Nebraska - Bruce Springsteen

6. What’s your take on the current state of Punk?

Punk isn't dead, nor will it ever be.

7. What’s the current music scene like there in the Michigan both locally and state wide?

Locally its been growing. A lot of really good punk/indie bands. Michigan as a whole... lots of heavy bands.

8. What’s your take on legal/illegal music downloading?

Music was made to be listened to. Support the artists you actually enjoy, but don't rip people off. Most people work really hard on the music they put out.

9. What’s next for Rounding Third?

Recording some new tunes and touring!

10. Any shoutouts?

Troy Weiler and Excellency Music, Car Crash Rhetoric, I AM NINJA, and Juan (John Lacross, Sound engineer at Hamilton St. Pub).
