SinThya

SinThya (Experimental Industrial) - Georgia

-Interview- (1/19/23)
1. How did you get started with music and how did you develop your sound? Who thought of the name "Sinthya" and is there any meaning behind it?

I’ve been in the Industrial, Punk and Noise scenes since 2013, where I used to network and DJ regularly. SinThya is a project I created on my own upon the gnosis of “Sinful Organism”. I developed my sound gradually overtime since the project’s musical inception in early 2017, adding elements of Noise, Post-Wave, Shoegaze, Black Metal and a smorgasbord of other varying genres into my Experimental Industrial soundscape.

2. What do you want people to take away from your music?

I want them to get a sense of inspiration in opening their artistic merits and to learn how to stop caring what others think and pursue the art that speaks to them on the inside. We’re all sinners, we’re all artists deep down.

3. How would you describe your sound to the average listener?

Experimental Industrial is the accepted terminology, yet I call it Killerwave, the sound is so unique that there isn’t really something to compare it to entirely.

4. Who are three bands you’d like to tour with?

Christian Death, Danzig and Deftones.

5. How has Covid affected what you do?

It helped open my mind up to a more melodic feel to my creative sound.

6. What’s your take on the current state of Experimental Industrial?

It’s too small of a circle, I would like to find similar artists to me with my work ethic and expansive mindset in making music in the future.

7. What's the current music scene like there in Georgia?

There are tons of amazing acts out here that are so talented and yet get slept on way too much. Horror Punk, Post-Punk, Industrial and Metal mainly.

8. What’s your take on the royalties that streaming services pay out to artists?

I don’t pay too much attention to it, as my project is open to taking donations not for financial reasons but to accept support from my small yet incredibly dedicated fan base, who give what they can and then some.

9. What’s next for Sinthya?

I got plenty of music to release in 2023 whilst also finishing off the second leg of my local tour to promote the debut album. This is my year.

10. Any shoutouts?

Scarlette Saturn, Vickis Dream, Nix The Scientist, all amazing local acts out here.
