"Horizon" Single Review
Fresh off their critically acclaimed "High on Life" EP, Swedish Rockers The Wires have unleashed their new single "Horizon". How does it stack up against their previous material? Let's find out in our newest review. The track immediately kicks off with a more upbeat sound than what they're used to churning out. The sound is extremely radio friendly right from the get go. It's more Pop/Rock than anything but that's not a bad thing. The sound still sounds natural and it's a nice change of pace for the band. There's no doubt that they created highly infectious music but this takes it to an entirely different level. There's a guitar solo thrown in for good measure towards the end of the track. The Wires hit out of the park with this single, that's for sure.

Try not to get this new single from The Wires stuck in your head. We dare you.

"High On Life" EP Review
Rock music is in a resurgent period right now and The Wires from Sweden are looking to put their stamp on the genre with their new three track "High On Life" EP. Let's dive in and see what they're all about. The opener "Betrayed" kicks off with a nice little riff before blasting into some powerful Rock sound. The track has shades of Breaking Benjamin to it as the uplifting chorus and hard riffs are front and center. The guitar solo later on in the track is out of this world. It's an awesome opener and really helps set the tone. "High On Life" is a bit slower but has some tremendous radio appeal. It's a highly accessible track that brings to mind the 90's Rock acts. It's incredible and definitely has what it takes to be a fan favorite right away. The closer "The Game" has a bite to it. The track is a roller coaster of Rock fun. The track has an incredible amount of melody and riffs to it and really digs deep to create a Rock sound that's hard to ignore. If you're a fan of Rock music, you need to check these guys out right now!

The Wires shine bright with their new "High On Life" EP.

-Interview- (2/21/18)
1. How did you get started with music and how did you develop your sound? Who thought of the name “The Wires" and is there any meaning behind it?

All of us studied our instruments at the same school when we were young. The teachers put together small bands and we participated in small concerts around our hometown. To make a long story short, we all met in school and later on created the band we are today.

2. What do you want people to take away from your music?

We just hope that our listeners enjoy our music, and that we can influence people with our music just like we are influenced by our favourite artists/bands.

3. How would you describe your sound to the average listener?

Influences from hard rock, heavy metal and pop music we would say creates our sound.

4. Who are three bands you’d like to tour with?

KISS, The 1975, and the Foo Fighters.

5. What are your three desert island albums that you'd never get tired of listening to?

Because of our different influences we have no favourite albums to share. Therefore, here are our individual favourite albums:
London Calling - The Clash (Hannes)
Lick it up - KISS (Ludvig)
A night at the opera - Queen (Jacob)
...And justice for all - Metallica (Henrik)

6. What’s your take on the current state of Rock?

All we can say is “MORE ROCK TO THE PEOPLE!”.

7. What’s the current music scene like there in Sweden both locally and country wide?

The music scene is not what it used to be. Sadly, there aren’t many places for lesser known rock bands to perform.

8. What’s your take on legal/illegal music downloading?

We like it when people pay for the work the artists/bands has created.

9. What’s next for The Wires?

We are working on some new material for our debut album. Hopefully it will be out sometime this year! Stay tuned.

10. Any shoutouts?
