Sounds like: Progressive Metal

This is the new full length album from Canadian Progressive band Sleeping In Traffic. Lt's take a peek and see what they're all about. The single "Just An Echo" opens up the album in style by way of its schizophrenic Progressive sound. There's so much to like on the track that it's no wonder why it's the first single off the album. The track brings to mind the sound of early Incubus. "Forming Alliances" features a swirling guitar riff in the beginning before breaking into a more sludgy, slowed territory. When the bass riff picks the track back up, the listener is transported into the melodic world of the band. It's a beautiful 2/3 of the track and should be enjoyed by everyone. "Reactivist" is a technical masterpiece. The track even features some saxophone work and boy does it crank up the depth to an even higher level. It's a tremendous track to get lost in. "Injustice System" is a roller coaster of a track that knows when to build up and slow things down. It's a multi layered track track that'll get stuck in your head for days with its riffs and melody. "Not Your Fault" features an opening sound that brings to mind 311 in its frantic, melodic pacing. The track shreds and features a furious breakdown that is nothing short of amazing. The track breaks into an atmospheric tone and relies on the ambient noise to build itself back up to a crushing level. "Destroy To Rebuild" is a driving, melodic track that is akin to Tarzandragon. The track brings back the Incubus influence and anyone who's into the earlier works of the band should check out this track for sure. "Teach The Young" is a four minute instrumental track that continues the awesome journey of Progressive sound. Going from the shortest track on the album to the longest, "Complacency, Our Foe" clocks in at over seven minutes and really showcases the full potential of the band. It covers the full spectrum of Progressive Rock/Metal and is a real treat to enjoy (especially the ending). The closer "Listen Up!" is an uplifting track that has its sights set on affecting the listener in a meaningful way. It accomplishes that and then some. While album is hefty at over 52 minutes long, it has the achievement of not disappointing one bit in that time. The band has previously stated that they were built around the concept of change and this album sure changes up the landscape of Progressive music.

Verdict:
Sleeping In Traffic's new album brings new adaptations and innovations to the Progressive music world.
