From: Melbourne, Australia
Sounds like: Alternative Rock/Metal

This is the latest album from Melbourne, Australia's Vacant Image. Let's take a peek and see what the album is all about. "Mister Bell" opens up the album in chugtastic fashion. The upbeat tone of the track will get everyones' head banging and singing along. The soaring chorus brings to mind Soundgarden or Alice In Chains. The ever present breakdown on the track is fantastic. "Double Negative" is a faster pace and doesn't hold back. The track teeters on the edge of Metal and Alternative Rock with its metallic riffs and melodic vocals. It even kicks into an even higher gear which has to be heard to be believed. "Petals" features a slow build up that draws comparisons to Live with its moody Rock appeal. It's a tone changer on the album but still packs a mean bite. "Eating Dahl Makhani With Paul McCartney" is the shortest track on the album and a definite shift in pace from the previous track. It has a bouncy vibe to it that brings to mind the higher energy tracks of Pearl Jam. "Saving Sold Souls" is a vicious five minute romp through the forests of Grunge. The track is atmospheric and really works well. "Almost Nothingless" is a high octane track that will perk up some ears. It goes straight for the jugular and is a stand out track with its multiple layers of Rock and Metal. "Mudder Fudder" automatically brings to mind the classic sound of Nirvana. It's a spectacular short and should be a fan favorite in no time. "Ladies And Gentlemen" is a slower, sludgy track that favors patience. The track has shining moments throughout and should appeal to Hard Rock fans. "Little Abby" is the longest track on the album and really shows off the true talent of the band. Clocking in at nearly seven minutes, the track has everything a fan of Rock or Metal music could enjoy. "Broken Blues" brings back the sound of the opening track as the listener will be chugging and singing along to its melodic and heavy sound. "1133" closes out the album and is an epic track. The track and entire album takes the listener on a wonderful journey of a mixture of Alternative Rock, Grunge and Metal.

Verdict:
Vacant Image's new album is an unrelenting assault on the senses to any fan of Rock or Metal music.
