From: Chicago, IL
Sounds like: Post Hardcore

This EP is the newest offering from Chicago's post hardcore outfit Polarities. They incorporate two contrasting; but equally powerful vocal styles that creates a vocal onslaught. "Searching" opens up the EP in grand post hardcore fashion. The melodic vocals mixed with the brash vocals and chaotic instrumentation make this a truly outstanding opener. Next up is "Amare et' Amari" and takes things up a notch with its pace. It's a tad faster and harder than the previous track but it features some incredible guitar work. The track brings to mind early A Day To Remember or Alesana. "Lost Time" is a track that draws comparisons to Underoath with its melodic fury of a sound. It's a top notch track that will get the live crowd moving. "Take Me" is a bouncy track that features some earth shattering breakdowns and uplifting melodic vocals. It's a top notch track that shouldn't be missed. The closer "No Hope" is gem of a track. The track hits its stride right away and doesn't let go. This six track EP is a marvelous feat of achievement and every fan of post hardcore should enjoy it for some time to come.

Verdict:
Polarities have an EP here that is bound to set the post hardcore world on fire.
