From: New Bremen, OH
Sounds like: Emo/Indie Rock

Mountain-House kicked off the new year with a bang as they released this new EP on New Year's Eve. Let's dive on in and see why 2018 will be a big year for this promising band from Ohio. The opening track "Jessica" starts off slow but erupts with the passion of a hundred Emo songs at once. There's a slight Taking Back Sunday/Dashoboard Confessional vibe that radiates from the track. "Call It Like I See It" cuts right in and doesn't let go with it's infectious sound. It's a radio friendly track that'll pull in listeners with ease. You'll be singing along to the chorus in no time and reach for that repeat button. "Friends" is a track that was previously released by the band a year prior. It's fast paced and doesn't hold anything back. There's a Pop Punk influence on the track but it still has those Emo tendencies as well. It's a very dynamic track that showcases their sound perfectly. "Butterscotch Daydream" takes the energy down a bit. The track has a more Indie Rock vibe as the instrumentation is the star of the track. It's a real treat to listen to and easy to get into. Later in the track it really goes off the rails and the passion just overflows out of it. The closing track "Coconut" soars high with strong melodies and a strong instrumentation that's hard and soft at times. It's everything that Mountain-House is all about and it closes out the EP on a high note.

Verdict:
The new EP from Mountain-House shines bright with their distinct Emo/Indie Rock sound.
