Sounds like: Rock

"Metamorphosis" opens the album with an extremely solid Rock sound. The track twists and turns with melody, riffs for days and a passion that is rarely heard on an opening track. The guitar solo is awesome and helps take it to a whole new level. "Rite of Passage" is the shortest track on the album track, clocking in at a minute and a half. It's mostly an interlude and helps set the tone for the next track. "Mighty Mississippi" is an epic journey through the raw talent of the band. The near six minute track takes a hold of the listener and doesn't let go. "Compromise" opens with an incredible guitar solo before dipping down into a more somber tone. The track picks up gradually with its haunting vocals and distorted guitar work. The vocals are key here as they're more schizophrenic than the previous tracks and helps build more of a dynamic. "Nodus" has a marching sound to it as it keeps its solid pace along its Rock track nicely. The track is extremely radio friendly and should be a fan favorite in no time. "Hydra" takes about a minute into the track to really get going. There's an almost Tool like sound to it as it's more experimental and downtempo. "Achilles Healed" picks back up the energy level. The track goes all out its Rock roots and creates a wonderful high octane sound. The crowd participation of the track in a live setting would be awesome to see. The title track "Chasing Our Tails" dips down again in its delivery and brings back the "Hydra" like sound. The haunting melodies and Progressive Rock tones are on full display. It does switch things up halfway into the track to a more Rush like sound too. "Hero" cranks things back up and it's quite the gem because of it. The time changes are nice and adds tons of depth. "Hajimemasho" is the perfect track to just rock out to. It's upbeat and has that sound that every Rock music fan will cherish. "Night Walk" wraps up the album up nicely and showcases their signature sound perfectly.

Verdict:
When it comes to Rock music, Lomez are here to put their stamp on the genre.
