Sounds like: Metal

"Walk Through the White" doesn't mess around. The track showcases its diverse Metal sound perfectly from the first note to the last. There's tons of depth and so many layers to the breakneck speed and fury. "Complex" opens with a Progressive breakdown before blasting full speed ahead. The tones and time signatures are top notch as it twists and turns like an audio rollercoaster with dips and peaks. "The Lens/Pathways to Forgiveness" keeps the audio onslaught churning along at a frantic clip. The toe tapping appeal is off the charts and while melodies come and go, the overall catchiness is at an all time high. "What Is To Be Done" is the shortest track on the EP, clocking in at a shade under five minutes. There's a touch of Industrial Metal in its foundation. That's not to say that the Metalcore elements aren't present, because they are in droves. The mish mash of different Metal styles create a melting pot of heavy goodness. "No Sleep (Two Weeks)" is an eight and a half minute epic closer that takes you through the wilderness of Black Stag Rising. The soundscapes and tempos swing side to side like a leaf blowing in the wind. Along with the entire EP in general, it's an awesome release just to get lost into and not want to escape from.

Verdict:
Black Stag Rising unleash their dynamic brand of Metal to the masses with their newest EP.
