Sounds like: Metal
From: Arizona

1. How did you get started with music and how did you develop your sound? How did the name "Lucid Intent" come about and is there any meaning to it?

We both started playing music at young ages. Playing in different bands groups and projects. Then Corey (Guitar and vocals) wanted to do something a bit heavier than his solo work and was able to stumble upon Jimi (Drums) through mutual friends! And we just immediately clicked and haven't looked back since! We came up with the name Lucid Intent because we wanted a name to describe our mind set about this band. And that is a "clear purpose" on what we wanted!

2. What do you want people to take away from your music?

With every one of our songs we have a message! We want to speak to our listeners in ways they can relate and have that beauty, even if it's for just one moment. Having that connection of relating with each other.

3. How would you describe your sound to the average listener?

Our sound is pure emotion! We try to capture the soft, beautiful, sad, melodic emotions of life with the added anger and aggression that we all possess! Our music is like a roller coaster of emotion because that is how life is .

4. Who are three bands you’d like to tour with?

Three bands that we would love to tour with would be Avenged sevenfold, Polyphia and Metallica.

5. What's your thoughts on AI generated music?

We definitely aren't a fan of AI generated music haha. Music is an expression of one's soul and I think everybody needs soul in their ears. AI music is essentially just noise. But as musicians we might be a little biased.

6. What’s your take on the current state of Metal?

I think Metal is absolutely having a comeback and it's exciting!! I feel like history repeats itself and society is getting to the point where they want to go to a show and bang their heads and mosh again! I mean we personally see it at a local level and it's an absolute riot!

7. What’s the current music scene like there in Arizona?

The local music scene in Arizona is intense! At our shows I feel like we're battling with the fans on who can go harder! The love and support from the community is absolutely unreal!

8. What’s your take on the royalties that streaming services pay out to artists?

We understand that you need to have big numbers to see a big fancy check. With that being said it just makes us work harder to get there! It would be nice to make it easier to make a good income from streaming services but if you didn't have to work for it I feel like it wouldn't be as rewarding when you make it! "You gotta dream big or not at all"!

9. What’s next for Lucid Intent?

Next on our plate we have a music festival called "Rev Fest" is Roswell, NM in September we are pretty pumped for!! And when it comes for new music we have a new song and music video every single month! We've been doing that for the last 22 months!

10. Any shoutouts?

We want to give a huge shout out to a guy named Gage Vickers! He is a promoter from Kingman, AZ and runs Deadface Productions! He's helped us out a ton with getting shows and he is also the front man of a death-core band called Horror Collective! Big shoutout to his guitar player and sound guy Danny Guerry for always making sure we sound great!
