Sounds like: Rock
From: Australia

1. How did you get started with music and how did you develop your sound? How did the name "Razor Burn" come about and is there any meaning to it?

I've been playing in bands for 20 years. Had some success in a few bands (Postscript, Punk Rock). After that band stopped playing shows I decided I needed a new outlet..Razor Burn was born from this. I went to work in my home studio writing as much as possible. After a long search we found Ethan to join on vocals and we have been full steam ahead since.

The name came from one of my favourite Punk bands Lagwagon, great tune of theirs.

2. What do you want people to take away from your music?

I want them to feel something when they hear our music, if that's from the vocals, the lyrics or just the riffage. Music is such a emotional outlet for me and I hope it is the same for others who listen.

3. How would you describe your sound to the average listener?

We are a mix of rock n roll but with a hint of Punk rock. Very melodic, but big riffs.

4. Who are three bands you’d like to tour with?

Easy, Foo Fighters, Rise Against, and Jimmy Eat World.

5. What's your thoughts on AI generated music?

It can get in the bin.

6. What’s your take on the current state of Rock?

As a genre they need to be more open to new music. In our scene there are more and more tribute acts showing up. They flood the scene making it hard to get shows. At some stage if everyone's playing in tribute bands we might run out of bands to pay tribute too!!

7. What’s the current music scene like there in Australia?

Australia is having a very good run in the metal Genre thanks to bands like Parkway drive and Northlane. Hoping that the rock scene can jump in on this too.

8. What’s your take on the royalties that streaming services pay out to artists?

It is what it is. If you work hard enough and you have good music, it will sort itself out through shows etc. As someone who has a full-time job the money making stuff is just a dream through music

9. What’s next for Razor Burn?

We are about to release our debut album but we have already started writing for album 2. I've written demos for 4 albums. Some won't make the cut.

10. Any shoutouts?

Shoutout to anyone who takes the time to listen to our music. We appreciate it
