Sounds like: Death Metal

1. How did you get started with music and how did you develop your sound?

I don't remember how and when I got into music but I do recall when I got my first CD at 7. It was a Motley Crue record and I was happy as f***! After that, Kiss was my favorite band for couple years and I almost bought every records. I saw them the following year and it was magical. I think it all help to be who i am today. I never gave up on music after that. And never will. One day around 10-11 my dad bought a drumset and By 13, I was into more brutal stuff like Dying Fetus, Cannibal Corpse, Incantation etc... Me and my father decided to jam ( yes, my dad is BLEEDING REMAINS guitarist ) and eventually it became Final Exhumation, which is a song on our first album. We found buddies to jam with and it turns into BLEEDING REMAINS in June 2018. My idea was clear, I wanted to play old school death metal, not death metal, old school. I thought it was the coolest genre. We never really looked on other bands for our riffs or inspiration. Its just my dad doing riffs that determined our brand, you know. Today I think that we have a pretty unique sound and formula that sets us apart from the other bands, and that was our goal. Thats waht I like the most about us. We also created our own genre, Garage Death Metal. It says everything. Its us, you know. Raw, catchy, heavy and old school! Its been 7 years now, a lot of things have changed but now the band is forged like we wanted it to be. The lineup is the good one and the songs are the best ones!

2. What do you want people to take away from your music?

Well, we are not the ones that try to reinvent the wheel, you know. Everything is done. We just want to keep that 80s-90s vibe that we all like and add our touch to it. We are 4 different guys with 4 different influences and background putted together. Its like Black metal, Punk, Death, Thrash and Heavy Metal putted together! We want people to have fun and mosh their lives on our songs, we want them to ask more after listening to our album! We want them to ask for an encore at our shows! Which is already the case haha. Excepted our first 4 songs, all other songs are about my vision as a 17-20 years old on the world right now in any subjects. It's things that can connect with other people who don't usually talk about with other... I don't have the same point of view than most of the people and I think I need to express it for good. Our songs are true. Look at the lyrics!

3. How would you describe your sound to the average listener?

It depends on people, some people said that we are like a mix of death metal and hardcore, other can say a mix of death metal and heavy metal. Its you to choose! One thing for sure is that we are a old school band, so 80-90s influences. If you like, whatever man, Pantera, Sepultura, Obituary, Beer or Weed, you'll like us!

4. Who are three bands you’d like to tour with?

For me, OBITUARY first! A big influence. Any Cavalera's project would be sick! I think that Max and I have the same kind of thoughts in the lyrics. I understand him a lot though. Otherwise I don't know man, I (we) like a lot of bands, different kinds and I think that BR can fit with a lot of bands. Cannibal Corpse would be huge!

5. What's your thoughts on AI generated music?

If its for your personal fun, its okay, go ahead. Theres some interested things but like for sales like we are seeing right now, its totally sad and dumb. People don't know how much time and blood it takes to make music, and albums and to book shows etc... It is just starting but it is already too much I think. There's real musicians out there working their asses off to make something good and real. And I speak for every genres. Its killing the music bussiness little by little.

6. What’s your take on the current state of Death Metal?

Very strong, a lot of great bands! The fact I like the most is that we will always have new bands, from all around the world and some bands are just so sick! You just need to discover them haha. And more and more, young people are into it and that makes me proud man.

7. What’s the current music scene like there in Quebec?

Its going pretty well! A lot of shows, bands and a lot of new bands. And finally! a lot of new young bands! I was waiting that moment for so long. When I started the band at 13, for couple years nobody else around that age was playing. Now I have friends, even younger than me, in the underground scene who kick some serious asses!

8. What’s your take on the royalties that streaming services pay out to artists?

For royalties, I think its a joke cuz bands makes no money nowadays for their music but you know, we're not in the 80-90s anymore where people would buy CDs and Tapes so i think thats one of the only way to be heard. If you still buy Cd, we have some! and all the money go to us! Otherwise, buy merch, its the last solution to every bands on the planet if you like them and go to shows.

9. What’s next for Bleeding Remains?

Hopefully a second album next year. We're working on it, we have almost 3 new songs. More shows. Traveling Canada and maybe Europe! More fun! More beers! This is just the beginning for us.

10. Any shoutouts?

Shoutouts to everyone that come to our shows and support us! Thanks to all the bookers that give us the opportunity to kick asses and have fun. All the bands we've played with, our friends, family.
