1. What’s new with Highroad No. 28?
A lot has been happening. Our album The Will To Endure was released on 29th December 2025, and now we’re gearing up for live shows.
2. What’s the word on new music?
As I mentioned, our latest album came out in December, but we’ll begin recording the next one in April this year. The full album is slated for release mid-next year.
3. How does the writing process go with the band?
Right now, I (Andrew JC) write everything, but the new members will add their own spin when performing live. I’m also confident they’ll contribute some songs eventually, which is exciting, especially since I’ve written nearly 99% of the band’s material so far.
4. What have you been listening to lately?
It’s pretty diverse. Apart from my own album, I’ve been listening to Fuel, Psycore (an underrated Swedish band), Benny Mardones (amazing voice), Feeder, Silbermond (a German band), Testament, and a lot more.
5. Do you have any pre-show rituals?
Not really, I tend to just go with the flow.
6. What’s one thing you’d change about the local music scene?
Honestly, I’m not sure.
7. What’s your favorite show you’ve played and why?
It was with an old lineup in Sydney, around 2004–2007, at a venue called Club Blink. The second guitarist (Pep), bassist (Marc E.), and I really clicked creatively—we shared a similar vision. Pep was especially motivated and dedicated to the band. The drummer was a challenge, but we pushed through and played some fantastic gigs. That Club Blink show stands out because we were all completely into it, and I was feeling particularly eccentric and expressive on stage.
8. Any plans for music videos?
We’ve already done one for the single Ache, and there will definitely be more.
9. What do you hope to accomplish for the rest of the year?
Record more music, play live shows, and, in a broader sense, continue enjoying and sharing the human experience.
