From: Ohio
Sounds like: Punk/Hardcore

1. How did you get started with music and how did you develop your sound?

I started playing guitar at age 10 in 1994. I picked up drums at 16, and bass and keys in my early twenties. I played in bands throughout my teens and early twenties and always had different influences ranging from metal and punk to rap and folk. Punk and hardcore have always been my home, though. After almost three decades of playing music, I’m still developing and evolving my sound.

2. What do you want people to take away from your music?

If anything, I hope they nod along! If one person hears and understands my message and makes a positive change in their life, I’m satisfied.

3. How would you describe your sound to the average listener?

I’d call it ‘90s punk rock with a nostalgic feel, but not a carbon copy of the past. It’s hard enough to rock to and melodic enough to sing along with.

4. Who are three bands you’d like to tour with?

I write, perform, and record every aspect of Revelations Align Hope, so touring would require building a full band around the project first. If that opportunity ever presents itself, I’d be happy touring with any band that values human decency and treats people right. That said, sharing a stage with As Friends Rust or Propagandhi would be a dream.

5. What's your thoughts on AI generated music?

I personally don’t use AI for my writing or production because I feel it can hinder real identity and personality. I know it’s becoming more common every day, but I believe music altered or generated by AI should come with some sort of disclaimer. It’s a lot of work to independently write, rehearse, perform, and record original material, and I feel AI can cut a few corners in that process.

6. What’s your take on the current state of Punk/Hardcore?

There are a lot of good things happening right now. I’m a member of several punk and hardcore communities online, and I see a lot of positivity, classic punk humor, and a genuine love for the scene. As long as people stay connected and continue supporting one another, punk and hardcore will always be strong.

7. What’s the current local music scene like there in Ohio?

As a full-time electrician, husband, and father at the age of 42, my time in the scene is limited these days. When I do get out, I find the scene to be small but vibrant. It’s smaller than it was in my younger years, but the energy and passion are still there.

8. What’s your take on the royalties that streaming services pay out to artists?

It is what it is. I think the royalties are pretty ridiculous, but if this were about money, my songs would probably suck. I make music because I love creating it, and any financial return is just a bonus.

9. What’s next for Revelations Align Hope?

To continue writing and creating. I took a long hiatus from music because of life circumstances and personal neglect, but I’ve regained my passion for it. I’m excited to keep growing, keep releasing music, and possibly morph this project into something even bigger someday.

10. Any shoutouts?

Absolutely—my family. Their patience, love, and encouragement have made all of this possible.
