All questions answered by Anthony.

1. How did you get started with music and how did you develop your sound?

Originally, I started as a guitarist. I've always been fascinated by music and was influenced by a close family member to start learning everything I could about it. Which led me to metal music and my absolute love for the genre. We're still working on fully developing our sound. But, we love the direction it's going in.

2. What do you want people to take away from your music?

From a lyrical standpoint, most of our current music is about mental health awareness. So, one thing we want people to take away from the music is that they're not alone, and if listening to our music can help ease any part of something the listener is going through, well... That's a win in our book.

3. How would you describe your sound to the average listener?

It's hard to describe personally. We've been told that we almost sound like Breaking Benjamin in some songs and Static-X in others.

4. Who are three bands you’d like to tour with?

Oh, that's a tough one! We have so many influences and favorites, it's hard to pick just three! But if we were to pick, it'd probably be Sevendust, Hatebreed and Static-X.

5. What's your thoughts on AI generated music?

We really don't like the idea. To us, it takes the creativity and character out of music. Musicians should be allowed to make mistakes. Sometimes, it's those very mistakes that make a song great!

6. What’s your take on the current state of Metal?

There are a lot of great metal bands out there! Both old and new. I love hearing new music and bands experimenting with new or different sounds and styles!

7. What’s the current local music scene like there in Kansas?

There's definitely a lot of diversity! We've got a lot of rap artists, metal heads, punks, Ska, Soul, Country, EDM, Folk, there's a little bit of something for everyone! And we try to be a tight-knit community and show support for each other!

8. What’s your take on the royalties that streaming services pay out to artists?

In my honest opinion, I feel that artists should be paid more. The time and energy that goes into writing the songs that are on the platforms far exceeds what most of the platforms are paying them.

9. What’s next for Dire Oath?

We're currently working on two new songs. "Choke" And "Corrupt Throne" we're hoping to have them ready for our next show, which will be at the Legends Festival in Chickasha, Oklahoma!

10. Any shoutouts?

I really want to give a shout out to my good friends, Austin Underwood, John Voges, and Jacobi Lee Winter. If it wasn't for them giving me my initial push onto the stage at open mics, I never would have worked up the courage to do any of this!
