-Interview- (6/7/25)
1. What's new with Fifteen Stitches?
Music! We have been writing new music for an upcoming release.
2. How's the new music coming along and is there a release date for it?
There is not currently a date. New music takes a while for us to get recorded. Mostly, due to the process we use to record. The last album took nearly a year from the day we laid out the first tracks to final mix and master. We try very hard to make a really good, long lasting product and that takes us a fair amount of time.
3. What can you tell us about inspiration for the new music?
My inspiration has been some of the same things that have always inspired me, though this time some of the music we have been writing is very similar to our normal style; we have been diving into other areas. For instance, there is a song we wrote that I think sounds a lot like Primus. This is pretty far out of our normal lane,.
4. What have you been listening to lately?
Ironically enough, I’ve been listening to a lot of old Metallica. Ride the Lightning, Master of Puppets, Kill Em all and Load.
5. Do you have any pre-show rituals before performing?
Yeah, moving the equipment hahaha! I try to warm up backstage, just play through some scales. Rob is likely taking some Tylenol, Tim shows up late and Jim is always seemingly nursing some wound from working in his yard and slamming the drums.
6. What's one thing you'd change about the local music scene?
I do wish the club owners could somehow manage to stay around. So many good clubs just can’t seem to stay around and continue to allow more new, local music. I think if more people were interested in local music it may change that, but it’s hard to compete with the internet these days.
7. What's your favorite show that you've played and why?
My favorite show was sometime this last winter. It was right after KISW had us as band of the week. We were playing a club in Tacoma (sadly, it’s closed) and the crown wasn’t huge, but they were totally into the music. That energy was electric, the more the crowd fed us, the more we gave that energy back to them. It really was fulfilling and we had so much fun!
8. Any plans for any new music videos?
Yes, we have scheduled filming for Nemo Liber. Hoping to have this done by the end of summer.
9. What do you wish to accomplish for the rest of the year?
I’m really hoping to just finish writing a few more songs and start recording the next album. Oh, and we have a good run of t-shirts with a new logo, sure would be good to sell those so we can pay for the album.
