The band was founded in Helmstedt, Lower Saxony, Germany in 1993. After one lineup change in 1994, we are active in the same formation for over 30 years now.
The lineup is:
Peter: guitar and vocals
Mirco: bass guitar and vocals
Chrille: lead guitar
Alex: drums
We started as a death metal band but due to our diverse taste in metal music, we included some other influences. Over the years we found our place right between thrash and death metal, with some groovy punch included. We draw inspiration from anything that has a solid metal edge. After a demo tape in 1995 (called “Sinfather”) and a first CD in 2000 called “Humanity Offline”, the album “inCite the unCreation” followed in 2010. This record is still available and was the first professional production. Servator played several gigs, mainly in our home region, as well in Braunschweig, Wolfsburg, Verden, Rotenburg and Buxtehude. We were part of Helmstedt - based open air festivals as “Waldbrand” (which was headlined by Vader) and “HelmFest” (headlined by Endseeker). This march we are part of the HelmFest - warmup show near Helmstedt, were a lot of regional bands come together for a heavy evening. In January 2026, our new all - out attack titled “The Dark Triad” will be released. Like “incite the unCreation”, it was recorded and produced at Splash’n’ Dash Studio by Reimund Junker in Helmstedt.
“The Dark Triad” is a psychological theory of personality, that describes three notably offensive but non - pathological personality types: Machiavellianism, sub -clinical narcissism, and sub - clinical psychopathy. Each of these personality types is called dark because each is considered to contain malevolent qualities. Although The Dark Triad is no concept album about this whole theory, the lyrics deal with conflicts, wars, personal tragedies, and crises - basically everything that’s going wrong in the world and that is often caused by man. The album is available as a three folded digipak with a 12 - page booklet and, after the release, on all major streaming platforms. If we get the feedback and the demand, we might produce a small vinyl edition, too. In December 2025, alongside an Instagram account, our YouTube channel went online with our first lyric video for “Drown in Blood,” to be followed soon by another video for “The Invocator.”
On January 17, 2026, our CD release party took place at JFBZ Helmstedt. We were able to secure Instructor (thrash metal) from Rostock and the death metal steamroller New World Depression from Emsdetten as support acts (New World Depression headlining, to be more precise). This show was a blast and gave us many positive response from the audience. We hope our album will be received positively as well. We never stepped back from doing what we call “Servator Metal”, that’s the way we love our metal and we would be grateful, if there are some follewers outside to support the underground.
-Interview- (1/22/26)
1. How did you get started with music and how did you develop your sound?
We started listening to metal in the early 90s. We were four teenage dudes, starting to grow into the scene, starting to grow our hairs and then decided to start a band. In the beginning that must have sounded terrible. We had help from a teacher at our high school and had rehearsals there. Later we found another rehearsal room and practiced a lot. Our style was a kind of raw Death Metal, but over the years there were more and more Thrash parts and a good dose of groove. Our influences are all kind of metal genres.
2. What do you want people to take away from your music?
We‘d like the people to feel the anger and rage the music and the lyrics contain. There is so much bullsh** in the world we live in, you must be angry when you look at it. Our music is some kind of valve for this anger. On the other hand, we don‘t take ourselves to seriously and have a good time on stage.
3. How would you describe your sound to the average listener?
We try to put some groove into Thrash Metal, garnished with some Death Metal vocals. There is few speeds, but a 10-ton-hammer coming down.
4. Who are three bands you’d like to tour with?
Of course everone in the band has a lot of favorites. Depending to our kind of music, we would love to support bands like Benediction, Pro-Pain or Testament. (Although we know well, we aren‘t professional enough to earn that slot).
5. What's your thoughts on AI generated music?
Nobody needs that bullsh**! Especially in the metal scene we have so many very cool bands from all over the world, bringing old and new sounds, combining or creating all kinds of heavy sounds to unbelievable records. There‘s simply no need for AI generated music and we will never support that.
6. What’s your take on the current state of Thrash Metal?
Thrash Metal has a revival over the past few yrears and we don‘t see an ending to this trend. We always loved the heroes and the new gems of this genre and we think there‘s a lot to come. The energy of Thrash is addictive.
7. What’s the current music scene like there in Germany?
The metal scene in Germany has always been active, even in the late 90ies, when some people said Metal was dead. It never was. We have plenty of cool rock and metal venues, lot of touring going on, a lot of bands from here and bands who like to visit our cities. Maybe the Germans aren‘t as enthusiastic (during concerts) as fans are in some other places - but they are absolutely loyal.
8. What’s your take on the royalties that streaming services pay out to artists?
We think only the big pop/rap artists get noteworthy credits with this system. Nevertheless we offer our music on all platforms to be available in countries we won‘t reach with our CD. And it‘s useful to stream the music whereever you go.
9. What’s next for Servator?
We try to promote our album as good as we can, because we believe it‘s a good record and maybe there are some maniacs out there who could like it. In the near future our new lyric video of "The Invocator" will be available on Youtube. We are no semi professional band, so not touring outside of Germany is planned (nor possible to be honest). We are happy to get feedback from all over the world. After some local gigs we will begin to write new songs. But as we all have families and full time jobs and don‘t live in the same city, it will take some time.
10. Any shoutouts?
Thanx to all the metal addicts and all ther maniacs all over the world for any support and any feedback! We appreciate it very much! Thrash on!!
