From: New Orleans, LA
Sounds like: Progressive Metalcore

Event Horizon are a Progressive Metalcore band from Louisiana who, fresh off their "Great Discovery Mission" tour, recently unleashed their highly anticipated "S.O.S" EP. Let's not waste anymore time and tell you why you should pick up this EP right now. "Departure" is a minute long intro track that sets the tone early. The electronic Metalcore ambience ratchets up and finally lets loose on the next track "Stars Collide". The track is a beast and rivals the heavyweights of the Metalcore genre with its vicious breakdowns and killer riffs. The single "Singularity" is next and starts off with the Progressive tones before bursting into an absolutely crushing breakdown. The chugs keep coming as the circle pit appeal is off the charts up until the highly infectious clean sung chorus. The As I Lay Dying influences are certainly here on the track as it has that melodic brutalness to it. The track gives away towards the end and drips down to purely instrumental before bursting at the seams with a devastating breakdown to bring things back to the Metalcore sound. The clean sung chorus closes out the track as it fades out. The track is a monster of a Metalcore track and should be a hit with fans of the genre. "Identity" is pure chaos. The technical riffs and Progressive Metalcore sound is on full display and doesn't back down. The bounce factor from the breakdowns is off the charts. The closer "Distress Signal" is more subdued than the other tracks but still packs a mighty punch. The track is more in the melodic Metalcore realm as the clean chorus soars and the melodic riffs take over. It's an absolute stunner of a track to close a brilliant EP.

Verdict:
Event Horizon lay waste to everything in their path with their new "S.O.S" EP.
