From: Pennsylvania
Sounds like: Metal

1. How did you get started with music and how did you develop your sound?

We've all had kind of similar experiences with seeing somebody when we were young playing instruments and being inspired in that way.

2. What do you want people to take away from your music?

We have a lot of different genres that we like and all have influenced and kind of meshed all of those to create our heavy sound.

3. How would you describe your sound to the average listener?

Death metal, prog, jazz influenced music with death metal deathcore vocals.

4. Who are three bands you’d like to tour with?

Revocation, Animals as leaders, The Acacia Strain, and The Black Dahlia Murder.

5. What's your thoughts on AI generated music?

That's a bit of double edged sword, there are advantages and disadvantages to AI. Just like everything else ying and yang. We don't think it belongs in music AT ALL because this is an art form that is FULL of human emotion and feeling. Can't get that with a machine.

6. What’s your take on the current state of Metal?

All heavy genres are getting more and more exposure and that is RAD.

7. What’s the current music scene like there in Pennsylvania?

The local scene is full of quality bands and people.

8. What’s your take on the royalties that streaming services pay out to artists?

Selling CD's is more lucrative and most bands have turned into traveling merch. salesman by default.

9. What’s next for Akykosa?

#1 priority is to complete our album. Looking for a Summer/Fall release. And just keep playing as many shows as possible this year.

10. Any shoutouts?

Shoutout to anybody that has enjoyed the tunes and everybody that supports us in our journey. Dysfigure from W.V. gave us a shot at our first show a couple years back and we haven't looked back. Killer dudes......KEEP IT HEAVY
