Sounds like: Grunge
From: Oklahoma

1. How did you get started with music and how did you develop your sound?

I have been singing most of my life. The sound really developed organically. Just listening to the radio growing up,and learning basic chords on the guitar. It just seems like even when I try to evolve the roots of the grunge sounds always find their way into what comes out.

2. What do you want people to take away from your music?

I just hope people can enjoy the music, and find a piece of themselves in the lyrics that they can hold onto. We all feel like aliens at different points of our lives, and it's nice to know that we're not alone in those instances.

3. How would you describe your sound to the average listener?

Abandon Alien is your classic grunge band. Following the footsteps of the great bands of the early 90's with raw simple songs, and lyrics that reflect a lot of emotions we all can relate to.

4. Who are three bands you’d like to tour with?

I would love to get a chance to tour with bands like Cold,Bush, and Pearl Jam. But honestly anytime I get the opportunity to share the stage with anyone really is a blessing.

5. What's your thoughts on AI generated music?

I am completely against AI in music. It's hard enough as it is trying to break into the industry with today's climate in the music field to make a living . It seems like AI will only damage that more.

6. What’s your take on the current state of Grunge?

I think it's alive and well. There are so many wonderful bands out there carrying the flag it never really went away. If you look at bands like Superheaven,Basement, Skating Polly, Violent Soho, ect. There are so many examples of that sound going strong.

7. What’s the current local music scene like there in Oklahoma?

The Oklahoma scene can be a mixed bag like most scenes but there are a lot of fantastic musicians that are putting in the work and grinding away.

8. What’s your take on the royalties that streaming services pay out to artists?

I think there's always room for improvement for artists to be compensated. We live in an era where it's harder and harder to be full time musicians and it doesn't look like it's going to be easier anytime soon.

9. What’s next for Abandon Alien?

Right now it's all about spreading the word about Birds On A Wire ,and trying to get the eyes and ears on Abandon Alien. I'm hoping to record an acoustic record of some songs from each of the 3 albums we put out , and do a tour of acoustic material. And then it's back to work on the fourth album in the near future.

10. Any shoutouts?

I have to thank everyone who has taken the time to check out Abandon Alien so far, and all the great bands we've shared the stage with. And the best is truly yet to come!
