Sounds like: Christian Metal
1. What's new with Forgiven You?
Well a lot actually. We have an entirely new lineup and the vocalist me, is now playing drums and vocals. Kerry is on lead guitar, and Anthony who was in the band last year is playing rhythm guitar/bass. Tried to do it the past, but it didn’t work out. We have our first major festival coming up in June 27th at 210 Studio Night Club. We are working hard on a single release. It is almost finished!
2. What's the word on new music?
New music is in the works, but we have a few parts left to record.
3. How does the writing process go with the band?
Right now I’m riding most of the parts and Guitar Pro and sending it to everyone. We do have one song that the other guys are starting to write their own parts for for the first time in years. All of the songs released I have written all the parts for independently, so it is nice to finally be working with guys who want to write and participate in that process.
4. What have you been listening to lately?
I have been listening to a lot of Jamie’s Elsewhere, Daedric, Then It Ends, some pop bands, and some blues bands as well. Some of us like Architects, Oceans Ate Alaska, Polaris.. etc. We have different tastes in metal, but all of like more than one style.
5. Do you have any pre-show rituals before performing?
Before shows we usually pray, but I have this things where I go and talk to all the bands, because it helps take the pressure off when performing. At least I have met the people that are listening back stage. I usually warm up a hefty amount.
6. What's one thing you'd change about the local music scene?
The thing I would like to change is all venues being respectful to ALL BANDS which include Christian bands like us. Some venues won’t book us or will jack with our sound live and honestly we have had happen at more than one venue.
7. What's your favorite show that you've played and why?
My favorite show last year was probably The Christian Metalcore Takeover. We sounded the best we have with a full lineup, and all the bands were sick! We also had the most people show up too.
8. Any plans for any music videos?
For music videos, I would love to shoot one this year with a new song! We shall see.
9. What do you wish to accomplish for the rest of the year?
Our goal this year is to release 3 singles, with starting an album. The current new album has 13 tracks, but hopefully things will stable out having so many lineup changes. That has been the biggest challenge when it comes to content and releasing new music and booking shows. We are currently looking for a solid metalcore drummer and bass player.
