1. How did you get started with music and how did you develop your sound?
Sölar was born as an experimental project that tried to reach the public deeply, without bring a mere interpretation. Everything had to be clear and hook to the first listen, like love at the first sight. We could speak about our influences like Audioslave, Incubus, Linkin Park, Alice in Chains, Sound Garden, Creed, Nickelback ... which together the components’ different experiences of the band create its own and characteristic sound of Sölar. We try to create an original sound, never heard before.
2. Who thought of the name “Sölar” and is there any meaning behind it?
The name Sölar refers to what I have mentioned previously. Our music aims to be powerful, simple, clear as the sun is. It has to reach people in a natural way and at the same time, being able to go in depth into their sensations and senses. We think “less is more”. The diéresis on the o, has to do with the origin of the band, which was of a type of Power Trio, to Audioslave style. Three members represented by the o and the colon.
3. What do you want listeners to take away from your "Your Creed" single?
With "Your Creed" we intend to establish a critical and moral connection with our fans about the current political, environmental and social situation, if we take into account the lyrics. Musically we try to reach the listeners in a direct, concise, energetic and direct way, with enough force that creates the need to listen to it again while saturating the senses. We want to be an explosion of senses.
4. What can people expect from your live show?
An unequaled energy discharge. Our music is designed to offer a visceral and primitive experience. We know what gives life to the songs is the live music and we let the skin on in each and every one of our shows. When people see us they are overwhelmed by the physical effort and energy we transmit to them in our show.
5. What's your favorite track to play live?
It depends on the moment of the performance. We have ballad songs and others to make people jump. "Victory", "My Sensation", "Another Way", "Steel Community", and overall "Your Creed". Each and every one of our themes has its own moment and are placed in the precise order to provoke the greatest sensitive and emotional impact at live.
6. Who are three bands you’d like to tour with?
It would be an honor to be able to perform alongside Linkin Park, Foo Fighters or Incubus. They are three bands that directly influence the creation of our themes.
7. Any crazy show stories?
Every trip to a concert is an adventure. The most curious case was that in less than 10 hours we almost killed ourselves 2 times. Firstly, we were on the highway to Seville, and we found a stone of more than 1000 kilos in the middle of the road, and coming back, we had an accident with a drunk driver, destroying a new rental car. That day would have been better to stay at home.
8. What’s your take on the current state of Rock?
The current situation of rock is complicated. Although there are very important festivals of this kind all over the world, it is true that it does not bet on emerging bands. Ensuring audience attendance by making posters with consecrated bands. At the same time, saturation in social networks of any kind of art, it becomes increasingly difficult to reach an audience that really likes what you do. In our case, we try not to follow musical fashions since these at the end are creating cycles in which the bands prescribe and finally they die. Only with the constancy in your work and musical line can happen that you arrive at good port.
9. What’s the current music scene like there in Spain both locally and country wide?
The real situation of live music in Spain is marked by the lack of support for emerging bands. There is only an influx of audiences in events where there are bands known nationally or internationally. At the same time, the media makes a band arrives or not to the public and it is usually done through money. Only those music lovers who really do not mind making the hard way to the summit are those who aspire to get a recognized name by the public.
10. What’s your take on legal/illegal music downloading?
I think the blame for illegal downloading on music is the price of it. Everything is a pure business in which the biggest losers are, in the first place, the musicians and secondly the people who can not pay the prices that the music industry imposes. Everything would be solved putting a fair price of sale to the public because, Who does not prefer to have an original album before a computer folder without any essence nor the life that gives the author?
11. What’s next for Solar?
Our intention is to continue growing as a band. Reaching more and more people and to be recognized by our sound. Providing always the quality that we are accustomed to offer thanks to hard and constant work we do. In a short term, we will finish the recording of our second album and present it throughout the country and some important cities in Europe. In a medium term, we would like to start moving internationally to reach, in a long term, sharing the stage with our idols, those who have influenced our lives and musical experiences.

1. ¿Cómo empezasteis con la música y cómo llegasteis a vuestro sonido (estilo)?
Sölar nace como un proyecto experimental en el que se buscaba llegar al público profundamente, sin ser una mera interpretación. Todo tenía que quedar claro y enganchar a la primera escucha, como el amor a primera vista. Se podría hablar de nuestras influencias como Audioslave, Incubus, Linkin Park, Alice in Chains, Sound Garden, Creed, Nickelback… que junto las diferentes experiencias de los componentes de la banda crean su sonido propio y característico de Sölar. Intentamos crear un sonido original, nunca oído antes.
2. ¿Quién pensó en el nombre "Sölar" y hay algún significado detrás de él?
El nombre Sölar hace referencia a lo comentado anteriormente. Nuestra música pretende ser potente, simple, clara como lo es el Sol. Tiene que llegar a la gente de manera natural y a la vez ser capaz de ahondar en sus sensaciones y sentidos. Pensamos que menos es más. La diéresis sobre la o, tiene que ver con el origen de la banda, que era de tipo Power Trío, al estilo Audioslave. Tres miembros representados por la o y los dos puntos.
3. ¿Qué queréis que se lleven los oyentes de vuestro single "Your Creed"?
Con “Your Creed” pretendemos establecer una conexión crítica y moral con nuestros fans sobre la actual situación política, medioambiental y social, si nos fijamos en la letra. Musicalmente pretendemos llegar a los oyentes de manera directa, concisa, enérgica y directa, con la fuerza suficiente que cree la necesidad de tener que volver a escucharla a la vez que sature los sentidos. Queremos que sea una explosión de los sentidos.
4. ¿Qué puede esperar la gente de vuestro directo?
Una descarga de energía sin igual. Nuestra música está pensada para ofrecer una experiencia visceral, primitiva. Sabemos lo que da la vida a las canciones es la música en directo y nos dejamos la piel en todos y cada uno de nuestros shows. La gente cuando nos ve se queda abrumada por el esfuerzo físico y la energía que transmitimos en nuestro show.
5. ¿Cúal es vuestra canción favorita para tocar en directo?
Depende del momento de la actuación. Tenemos canciones de tipo balada y otras para hacer saltar a la gente. "Victory", "My Sensation", "Another Way", "Steel Community", y por supuesto "Your Creed". Todas y cada uno de nuestros temas tienen su propio momento y están colocados en el orden preciso para provocar el mayor impacto sensible y emocional en vivo.
6. ¿Con qué tres bandas os gustaría tocar?
Sería todo un honor poder actuar junto a Linkin Park, Foo Fighters o Incubus. Son tres bandas que influyen de manera directa en la creación de nuestros temas.
7. ¿Alguna anécdota graciosa?
Cada viaje a cualquier concierto es una aventura. El caso más curioso fue que en menos de 10 horas casi nos matamos dos veces. Primero nos encontramos una piedra de más de 1000 kilos en mitad de la autovía dirección Sevilla y a la vuelta, nos chocó un conductor borracho y sin carnet de conducir, destrozando un coche de alquiler nuevo. Ese día hubiera sido mejor haberse quedado en casa.
8. ¿Qué pensáis sobre el estado actual de la música rock?
La situación actual del rock es complicada. Aunque hay festivales muy importantes de este género por todo el mundo, es cierto que no se apuesta por las bandas emergentes. Se aseguran la asistencia de público haciendo carteles con bandas consagradas. A la vez, la saturación en las redes sociales de cualquier tipo de arte, hace cada vez más difícil el llegar a un público al que le guste realmente lo que haces. En nuestro caso, intentamos no seguir modas musicales ya que éstas al final van creando ciclos en los que las bandas prescriben y finalmente mueren. Sólo con el trabajo constante y la constancia en tu trabajo y línea musical puede ocurrir que llegues a buen puerto.
9. ¿Cuál es el panorama actual de la música en España a nivel local y estatal?
La situación real de la música en vivo en España está marcada por la falta de apoyo hacia las bandas emergentes. Sólo hay afluencia de público en los eventos en los que hay bandas conocidas nacional o internacionalmente. A la vez, son los mismos medios de comunicación los que hacen que una banda llegue o no llegue al público y normalmente se hace a través del dinero. Sólo los amantes de la música a los que realmente no les importa hacer el duro camino hacia la cumbre son los que aspiran a hacerse con un nombre reconocido por el público.
10. ¿Qué pensáis sobre la descarga legal/ilegal de la música en la actualidad?
Pienso que la culpa de que exista la descarga ilegal en la música es el precio de ésta. Todo es un puro negocio en el que los mayores perjudicados son en primer lugar los músicos y en segundo la gente que no puede pagar los precios que la industria musical impone. Todo se solucionaría poniendo un precio justo de venta al público porque ,¿ Quién no prefiere tener un álbum original antes de una carpeta de ordenador sin ningún tipo de esencia ni la vida que le da el autor?
11. ¿Cómo veis el futuro de Sölar?
Nuestra intención es seguir creciendo como banda. Llegar cada vez a más gente y que se nos reconozca por nuestro sonido. Aportar siempre la calidad que estamos acostumbrados a ofrecer gracias al trabajo duro y constante. A corto plazo, terminaremos la grabación de nuestro segundo disco y lo presentaremos por todo el país y por algunas ciudades importantes de Europa. A medio plazo nos gustaría empezar a movernos a nivel internacional para llegar, a más largo plazo, para poder compartir escenario con nuestros ídolos, aquellos que han influido en nuestras vidas y experiencias musicales.

Tenemos mucho que agradecer a toda la gente que ha creído en nosotros desde el principio. Familia, amigos, medios especializados… En general a toda la familia Sölar. ¡Nos vemos en los escenarios!
