Sounds like: Metal

1. How did you get started with music and how did you develop your sound? Who thought of the name “Signals Over Skies” and is there any meaning behind it?

Three members of our band started playing together ten years ago in the band Collapse Of The Sky. Since then, we’ve been able to develop our sound through multiple recordings and different inspirations. By getting older, our sound became heavier and more technical. Recently, we added a new member to our band : JF Bacon. His vocal complement very well the type of sound we wanted to have for so long.

For our band name, our ex-singer thought of it when we had to change the name of our band since there was another band with the same name. There wasn’t any meaning behind it, we just thought is was cool.

2. What do you want people to take away from your "Thanatos" single?

Our heaviness, our catchiness and our tightness.

3. What's your favorite track to play live?

"Neptune".

4. Who are three bands you’d like to tour with?

Between The Buried And Me, The Contortionist and Parkway Drive.

5. What are your three desert island albums that you'd never get tired of listening to?

Between The Buried And Me – "Colors"
Underoath – "They're Only Chasing Safety"
Linkin Park – "Hybrid Theory"

6. What’s your take on the current state of Metal?

These days, we seem to hear the same sound over and over again. However, a couple of bands seems to be able to separate their sound from the other bands.

7. What’s the current music scene like there in Canada both locally and country wide?

In the last couple of years, there was a decline in interest for the underground Metal scene in Montreal. However, these days, people seem to be more willing to see a Metal show. For the country wide scene, we haven’t had the chance yet to see it for ourselves.

8. What’s your take on legal/illegal music downloading?

For bands that are trying to make a name for themselves, it can be helpful for them when people have access to their music even though it was downloaded illegally.

9. What’s next for Signals Over Skies?

Since we are recording tracks for new songs, you can expect a new album for us in the next couple of months.
