Sounds like: Symphonic Black Metal

1. How did you get started with music and how did you develop your sound? Who thought of the name 3 pieces of evil and is there any meaning behind it?

I got started with music through 2 of my uncles going out to their practice on the weekend to listen to them when I was a little kid. I ended up getting my first guitar on my 12th birthday. Through the years I was practicing on my own through videos online and decided to get lessons through a couple different people. I use to play guitar for a church on the pulpit for a couple years but faded away from it and I started to get more into Black Metal and wanted to start my own black metal band project with orchestra in it.

I started this band up by myself because I couldn’t find anyone interested in starting a black metal band with me and came up with the name 3 Pieces Of Evil because my grandmother use to have these 3 wooden monkeys on one of her shelves that resembled see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil. I made it into more of a black metal way since I made all the music all alone, I am the 3 Pieces Of Evil, Me, Myself, and I. We all see the evil in this world, We all hear the evil in this world, and We all speak of the evil in this world, the actions of all the chaos people start are the cause of the 3 Pieces Of Evil.

2. What do you want people to take away from your music?

I’m just wanting people to listen to it and enjoy the entertainment from the hard work into making the music from this band. Try to understand the meaning behind the lyrics that will make you question things in life but also just to jam and enjoy the tracks.

3. How would you describe your sound to the average listener?

How I would describe the sound of my band would be Dark, Fast and heavy death metal, with a little mixture of a symphonic ambient sound with orchestra backing it up. Chaos of this World inspired the style of this band project.

4. Who are three bands you’d like to tour with?

I would absolutely love to tour with Behemoth, Carach Angren, and Fleshgod Apocalypse, my most favorite black metal bands.

5. What are your three desert island albums that you'd never get tired of listening to?

To be honest any albums by Behemoth, Carach Angren, and Fleshgod Apocalypse.

6. What’s your take on the current state of Symphonic Black Metal?

I think it is growing more and more each day. A lot of bands coming out with great never forgettable tracks. It has really changed over the years and I’m really impressed.

7. What’s the current music scene like there in Ohio?

In my opinion the Ohio music scene from the people that I know which is not that many is actually good because of a bunch of good local bands and a lot of nice people that like to go to shows and talk about music but kind of bad because of corrupt producers/booking agents not paying good and one of them tried to steal my music and claim it was his work but I have all the proof its mine and had it copyrighted the same day I released the Weeping Willow Demo that’s why I wrote the song Corrupt. I’ve only done shows in Dayton, Lima, Cincinnati, and Bowling Green here in Ohio. I haven’t really been anywhere else in the Ohio music scene so I wouldn’t know much about the rest of the scene. That’s why I’m planning on moving away to a new area eventually to take my band project elsewhere to further my career with the band.

8. What’s your take on legal/illegal music downloading?

I’m not too fond of it. If they do it illegally at least support the band and share it with others. At least they listen to it but it takes a lot of effort and time to make music.

9. What’s next for 3 Pieces Of Evil?

Currently looking for band members to eventually start doing shows later on down the road. This band project only has 1 member that made it all by himself. Until then will continue to make it by myself and get things lined up to get a website and merchandise made. Soon to have a full album released with the tracks remastered from the Weeping Willow Demo EP.

10. Any shoutouts?

Prometheus, Into Pandemonium and Well of Night.
