1. How did you get started with music and how did you develop your sound? Who thought of the name “Highfront" and is there any meaning behind it?

For me it all started when a friend of my Dad’s heard me jamming away in the basement to some Metallica and I overheard him tell my Dad, “the kid can play”. So that’s when things really started for me. The sound of the band comes from having an open mind to all kinds of music and listening to what the guys in the band have to add to help develop the sound. As for the name, my grandfather’s name was Wesley Loback and people use to joke with him by calling him Eastley Highfront. I derived our name from that because Pantera was already taken.

2. What do you want people to take away from your music?

What someone takes away from a band’s music is personal and different for each person. We just hope the music somehow connects with people.

3. How would you describe your sound to the average listener?

Well if you like to listen to Rock and Metal music you’re not average, you’re awesome! The sound has a range of influences mixed in, like, Black Sabbath, Pantera, Lynyrd Skynyrd, HELLYEAH, Metallica, Rob Zombie, and Lamb of God to name a few.

4. Who are three bands you’d like to tour with?

In a perfect world it would be Red Fang, Down and Lynyrd Skynyrd.

5. What are your three desert island albums that you'd never get tired of listening to?

Metallica - Master of Puppets, Dr.Hook & The Medicine Show and AC/DC - Highway to Hell.

6. What’s your take on the current state of Hard Rock?

To me the state of Hard Rock is alive and well! And again, it’s different for everyone, but it’s out there.

7. What’s the current music scene like there in Canada?

Due to COVID things are not as they should be. We cannot wait to get out there. There’s a lot of great music being made in Canada.

8. What’s your take on legal/illegal music downloading?

Thanks for listening!

9. What’s next for Highfront?

We’re going to keep writing/recording music and putting it out there.

10. Any shoutouts?

To all who fuel the fire, you know who you are. That’s one thing we love about social media, you can acknowledge and thank people right away for their support.
