1. How did you get started with music and how did you develop your sound? Who thought of the name “Hysterical Blindness" and is there any meaning behind it?
hysterical blindness is at the base a one man band created in 2019 by Vincent Pilon. He released in early 2020 the EP Lead In Veins. Later, his long-time friend Jessy Bergy helped him create the full album Mysterious Dogma which was released on October 31, 2020. In early 2021 Vincent suffered a serious accident where he lost the use of his left hand. He will appeal to his friend Alexander Vorobiev who will become an official member of the band. Alexandre participated in the creation of the EP Salomon which was released on June 8, 2021. Vincent is now in charge of vocalizations, drum, composition and Alexandre of guitar, bass and composition. He worked very well on the new album which will be released at the end of winter 2022.The single Garden Of Pain is already available.
2. What do you want people to take away from your music?
Hysterical Blindness is a dynamic post-black genre with death metal influences. A cold and brutal sound reminiscent of the Canadian winter. The lyrics talk about mental illness, politics, occult and religion.

6. What’s your take on the current state of Black Metal?
We have no special status in relation to current black metal and do not want to be associated with any other band. you will notice that several songs touches has several different styles at the same time while keeping the original soul that makes what Hysterical Blindness is.
7. What’s the current music scene like locally there in Canada?
The current music scene in Canada is currently (in my opinion) in prossecus of creation. Have seen a lot of new band in full expansion and a lot of new album coming out.
8. What’s your take on the royalties that streaming services pay out to artists?
Hysterical Blindness 100% of all royalty on digital platforms.
9. What’s next for Hysterical Blindness?
Hysterical Blindness will release a new full album with a slightly different sound. We may be looking for a new member to allow us to perform.
10. Any shoutouts?
I would like to shout out to Jessy Bergy who participates from time to time in the mix and the master. To François Bertrand who participated in Salomon’s final mix.
