Sounds like: Rock/Metal

1. How did you get started with music and how did you develop your sound? Who thought of the name "The Cloudscape Connection" and is there any meaning behind it?

This band developed online from Iwan Finlayson. He sends us the guitar track and it grows from there. We all send our parts to the studio and a song emerges. The band members are from Indonesia, Singapore, Michigan, Arizona & Kansas. So when Drew J. Howard came up with the name "The Cloudscape Connection" it made sense.

2. What do you want people to take away from your music?

Hopefully they take from it the emotions behind it. The message, the feelings, the love of music.

3. How would you describe your sound to the average listener?

It is a bit all over the place. When we started out the songs were more alternative, rock and metal. Now with the addition of Cameron Clark the sound has evolved into a more symphonic metal sound. Having Howard Cary Jones on viola also has also pushed us into that symphonic sound.

4. Who are three bands you’d like to tour with?

We'd tour with anybody!!!

5. How has Covid affected what you do as a band?

It hasn't. Other than the inconvenience.

6. What’s your take on the current state of Rock/Metal?

It's great. It continues to evolve from all aspects.

7. What’s the current music scene like locally there?

It is good for the most part. As with most scenes it can get diluted with musicians that think they're in competition with the other bands or players that have this entitlement about themselves. Some carry jealousy and some carry their egos. Music is love not a competition. For the most part speaking for Kansas we are blessed with a saturation of creative people and opportunities.

8. What’s your take on the royalties that streaming services pay out to artists?

I hope they can eventually get it right and honest.

9. What’s next for The Cloudscape Connection?

We plan to continue putting out a steady diet of singles. We are looking to release our first collection on vinyl very soon.

10. Any shoutouts?

Thanks so much to From The Depths Entertainment!!!
