Sounds like: Melodic Hardcore

1. How did you get started with music and how did you develop your sound? Who thought of the name “Savour The Silence” and is there any meaning behind it?

We love all music its been apart of all our lives and it would be a great privilege to be apart of that world. We decided that we didn't want to fit into a specific genre and be held in by some kind of barrier of expectancy. Well I guess really we first met at a Bring Me The Horizon gig in Nottingham after Charlie and Jack had been talking about getting a band started. And we never looked back. Josh came up with the name. There is a meaning behind it which is that there is a women at Josh, Charlie and Cormac's work that in a word is very loud, anyway she left to go on holiday and on the day before she was meant to come back Charlie reminded Josh and Josh said "oh s*** well we better Savour The Silence".

2. What do you want listeners to take away from your music? How has the response to "You Can't Keep A Secret If There Never Was A Secret To Start" EP been since its release?

We would hope that the our listeners would take a sense of unexpectancy. With the way are songs are written, we would hope that there isn't a pattern or a none defined break between songs like it sounds like one big song. The response to the EP has been really great and we've had some good constructive criticism from other bands. We don't mind really if people have an opinion on it because we don't have to act on what they say but if it genuine and constructive it's something we'd definitely look at.

3. How would you describe your music to the average listener?

I'm not sure how we would describe it but I guess we'd have to say something that can both get you fired up and brutal but also remember the song and recognize which ones which, with nice melodic parts to chill you out.

4. What can people expect from your live show?

We would hope to give a show full of energy and get the crowd involved as much as possible and hope it would still be talked about days later.

5. Who are three bands you’d like to tour with?

Beartooth, While She Sleeps and A Day To Remember.

6. Any crazy show stories?

Yeah we did a gig in Birmingham and Jack the lead singer was bringing the mic to his face to start the intro and ended up pulling his nose ring out and bleeding so much that it looked like a Cradle Of Filth music video.

7. What’s your take on the current state of hardcore?

Well we think there isn't enough exposure on radio and stuff, it has picked up a lot but like we listen to loads of other types of music like some other bands we know, but hardcore wouldn't be listened to because it's assumed you have an issue or are an angry person, having said that it does seem to have picked up in recent years and we want to do everything possible the expose this kind of music and get it heard across the world.

8. What’s the current music scene like there in the UK both locally and state wide?

Well we've never been to the states as a band so not sure on that. And here in England it's still seems to be growing, it's small but gaining momentum and we're getting more and more fans.

9. What’s your take on legal/illegal music downloading?

Our view is that you should really support the bands you love and help them continue in creating what you love to hear.

10. What’s next for Savour The Silence?

2015 is gonna be a big year pushing everything up a gear. We are looking to get an album out and do are first tour among other things.
