1. How did you get started with music and how did you develop your sound? Who thought of the name “Rescue, The Mouse” and is there any meaning behind it?

We all developed our musical interests at fairly young ages. Our influences include bands like Incubus, Brand New, and Nirvana. The name Rescue [the Mouse] came together through a collective effort. We practice at one of our guitar player’s house and he has a pool in the back. Most times we all go back there to have “band talk” by the pool and we noticed a
dead mouse in the pool. We came up with the joke that the mouse needs to be “rescued”, thus Rescue, the Mouse came to be.

2. What do you want listeners to take away from the "Come Back To The Sun" single?

We want people to be able to relate and find refuge in the fact that they are not the only ones going through what they’re going through. There’s a heavy and dark undertone to the song, but there are also ‘happy’ chords being played that portrays the “silver lining” or “light at the end of the tunnel”. We want people to know that with every decision we make in this life, we can always “Come Back To The Sun” and start anew.

3. What can people expect from your live show?

They can expect an energetic band with great chemistry. They can expect a good mix of soft and heavy sounds with soulful vocals. Rock ‘n’ Roll meets soul.

4. What's your favorite track to play live?

Our favorite track to play live is “Come Back To The Sun”. It was one of the first songs we completed writing with our current drummer and we will never forget the energy we felt when he came to audition. That energy translates to live shows and never fades.

5. Who are three bands you’d like to tour with?

We’d be grateful and honored to tour with Incubus, Bring Me The Horizon, and Emarosa.

6. Any crazy show stories?

One show, one of our guitarist gave a touring band we played with $200 to enjoy their stay here in Dallas. His networking skills are impeccable. Haha

7. What’s your take on the current state of rock?

I think it needs something new and exciting. It needs something that doesn’t sound like many of the rock bands you hear on your local radio stations. It needs something that once you hear it, it catches you because it is unlike anything you’ve heard before. We need this now before the state of rock becomes extinct.

8. What’s the current music scene like there in Texas both locally and state wide?

The music scene here is flourishing and is bigger than we expected it to be once we decided to become a part of the local family of musicians. It’s incredible the people you meet and the new and awesome music and talent you stumble upon once you are in the trenches yourself. We know many bands in different cities in the state, all of different genres. Considering we live in the state that has the live music capital of the world, there are so many gems you can find here if you’re really wanting to increase the songs and bands in your musical library.

9. What’s your take on legal/illegal music downloading?

If people are going out of their way to download our music, that shows us that they enjoy it and we’ve accomplished what we’ve come here to do. We’re making inspiring music to touch peoples’ lives and give them eargasms. Download away, peeps.

10. What’s next for Rescue, The Mouse?

We are preparing for our first mini tour as well as getting our EP released before the start of the new year. Once we’ve accomplished those things, we plan on getting back into writing and releasing a full album.

11. Any shoutouts?

We want to give the BIGGEST shout out to our friends and family that have to come to support us all of our shows we’ve done around the city. Without their support, we wouldn’t be as committed and dedicated to watering the seed for this project to bloom.
