1. How did you get started with music and how did you develop your sound? Who thought of the name “53 Judges” and is there any meaning behind it?

I think for all of us we got started with music by just constantly being around it and and finding out what we liked and it just contributed that way. When defining our sound, I see it as something unique. We all have many things in common as far musical backgrounds, but we all have a different aspect of sound that contributes to the band that makes it something you don’t normally hear in rock bands. As far as coming up with the name 53 Judges, we were looking for inspiration and Sam, our rhythm guitarist, found a passage in the Bible which is Judges 5:3. He brought it up to the band and we all liked it and decided 53 Judges would be the name of our band.

2. What do you want listeners to take away from the "Fade" EP?

What we want people to take away from our EP is that we’re not just another Rock band with a generic sound. We strive to be unique and original and hope people can recognize that.

3. What can people expect from your live show?

What people can expect from our shows is that we don’t like to stand around and act like we would rather be somewhere else. We thrive off of playing with energy and passion.

4. What's your favorite track to play live?

The favorite track we all love to play live would probably be "The Wrench". It's full of energy and we all get to show off a little in it as well. So it's definitely a fun one playing live!

5. Who are three bands you’d like to tour with?

Three bands we would love to tour with would have to be Metallica, Foo Fighters, and Volbeat.

6. Any crazy show stories?

I think the craziest show story would have to be when we were playing a bar show and people were giving us weird looks and heckling us as we were setting up. I’m assuming because we are relatively young and they thought that we were not going to put on a great show. After the last song played we had the crowd cheering us on and telling us how great we sounded. So it felt pretty great to show them that we shouldn’t be taken for granted just because we are young.

7. What’s your take on the current state of Rock?

I feel that right now Rock music is taking a decline and it's not what it used to be. Other genres are taking the headlines and that doesn’t sit well with us. We want to be a part of the generation that takes back Rock and puts it up where it should be. At the top!

8. What’s the current music scene like there in Alabama both locally and state wide?

As far as the scene in Alabama, Metal is pretty dominant here so trying to find shows can be a little tricky. It hasn’t stopped us yet so I don’t see it as a roadblock really.

9. What’s your take on legal/illegal music downloading?

As far as my stance on pirating, I fully believe in supporting the artist. There are definitely more cons than pros to it, but I also view it as a form of exposure because that person could possibly be playing it and someone else hears it and then it leads to more people liking that artist.

10. What’s next for 53 Judges?

What is next for us is we really are trying to get as much exposure as we can. Hoping to get a manager in the near future to help us out as well.

11. Any shoutouts?

We just want to shoutout to anyone who has helped us out and get us to where we are now. Especially all of our friends and family for pushing us on.
