Sounds like: Funeral Doom/Death Metal

The opener "Adornation" builds the perfect Doom Metal atmosphere perfectly. The guitar riffs and brooding tones that the track conjures up makes for a perfect first track. The title track continues on and has more of a melodic feel to it. The listener gets lost in the wilderness of the track and easily digests the natural nature of it all. The vocals have a small slice on the track and that helps with having more of an impact when they do kick in. "Transition Consent" is the heaviest track so far. The track does dip down a bit at the bridge but manages to build itself back up with an even harder second half. "Where My Pain Lies" is another twenty minute epic track that is everything the band are about. The track showcases the true talents of the band perfectly and everyone should check it out as soon as possible. The closer "Where Dreams Become Flesh" twists and turns and takes the intensity to an even higher level. Once it lets loose, look out. The sounds are much more surreal and atmospheric and when combined with its intesnity, makes for an amazing closer.

Verdict:
Abyssic have created a truly epic release with their "High the Memory" EP.
