1. How did you get started with music and how did you develop your sound? Who thought of the name “Never Ending Struggle" and is there any meaning behind it?

We as a band started our journey in 2018, we met at our local hardcore scene gigs here in Milan many times as friends and then we decided to start a band! Paul (our singer) found that name… to be accurate our name is N.E.S. and of course it stands for Never Ending Struggle, cause that's our life: hard times that seem to have no ending but they can't stop us! We will fight back, stay positive and stand united. Cause this is what we own, what we live and what we love to be... so fuck the rest!

2. What do you want people to take away from your music?

First thing we want to share with people is our meanings! The lyrics we scream loud and proud are something about being strong and positve, to stay united and to fight back against the unfair system we are forced to suffer, together we can build our alternative space where all the shit that this sick, oppressive and corrupted system is spreading can't reach us! And of course we want to let people feel this through the energy that makes our powerful sound so brutal and true!

3. How would you describe your sound to the average listener?

A mix of Hardcore sound and attitude and extreme Metal vibes! KT's guitar is like fire from hell and Martin and Francesco's beats on drums and bass are like a combination of punches from the best Tyson! Then we've got the Paul's vocals sounding like if the devil himself is telling you "C'mon, go the world fuck itself and join the party!". A mix of old school extreme metal and hardcore and the new brutal energy of deathcore and powerful sounds of our times! Is that explanatory enough?

4. Who are three bands you’d like to tour with?

Wooow cool question! So many bands we love out there… well, if we must choose just three we're gonna say LAMB OF GOD, JINJER and TRIVIUM!

5. How has Covid affected what you do as a band?

Covid has dramatically changed our lives. It's for sure a sad time but we must stay strong and focused! What we miss more than anything else is surely the stage… the last year while we were recording the upcoming album we had the blessed opportunity to play a lot of gigs and we miss those vibes! Then all of our plans for future we made last year have been erased and cause of this we are having delays on our releases... For many months cause of the lockdown we couldn't play together as a band but this hasn't extinct the fire in us and our determination about writing new songs and new concepts and ideas. So we have found the way to keep on composing our music and the new tracks for the second album… yes we are already working on a new album even if our first one hasn't been published yet! Nothing can stop us!

6. What’s your take on the current state of Metal/Hardcore?

A lot of amazing bands and great musicians! We love how extreme music is evolving and incorporating new sounds and contaminations from other genres! We love and listen old school stuff and we think the legacy, especially of bands from the 90's, is living in bands like us and the attitude is still strong in our scene!

7. What’s the current music scene like there in Italy?

Italy for sure have a lot of great bands to represent it! It's not easy to be a musician in this country, especially for bands like us! Mainstream business sucks and so many producers whom should love music are doing everything to kill it! Sometimes it seems like all you need is just to know how to sell your image and nobody cares about music and this sucks! Fashion before passion? We don't want to be part of this! That's so sad but fortunately we've got a lot of kick ass bands still believing in what they play, and we think to be one of those!

8. What’s your take on the royalties that streaming services pay out to artists?

We think that this services in general are good concepts in theory but often in reality are nothing but part of a corrupted system which kills music focusing on the service's gain… the more you pay the more you will be noticed but for sure your hard work will not be respected as it deserves and your music most of the times becomes nothing but a drop in the sea… you'll not gain the much you've spent!

9. What’s next for Never Ending Struggle?

We are very close to release our first Full Album called "The Never Ending Struggle"! You can already find two singles on our Spotify and two Official Videos on YouTube and these are ABUSE and SPIT IT OUT! Actually we are already working on new explosive tracks for our second album and we are so excited about it! We hope that soon this difficult situation (COVID pandemic) will be solved and bands like us can jump back on stage to raise hell with you all and have fun together! As soon as it will be possible we are gonna start a tour and spread our energy Worldwide!

10. Any shoutouts?

Follow us on our social networks (Facebook, Instagram, YouTube) and on Spotify! Soon New Explosive Stuff will be out and we want to know what you think about it! If you like what we do please let us know it and share our music with your metalhead friends! These are Hard Times for everybody but united we'll face any difficulty and get stronger and stronger! The Struggle Never Ends but NOTHING CAN STOP US!
