1. How did you get started with music and how did you develop your sound? Who thought of the name “Dark Delirium" and is there any meaning behind it?

"We started with music many years ago! Halvar started playing guitar at a very early age, while Simeon started off with drums and slowly started playing guitar, drums as well as other instruments. David did also try out a bit of singing at a young age. We all grew up and had to get jobs, and we didn't really have time for making/playing music anymore. But then in the darkness of Covid we all got the time to start all over, but this time much, much more seriously. Simeon and Halvar began making instrumentals, and asked David to write lyrics, cause of Davids past with poetry. David joined shortly after as a vocalist to!"

"Our trio are inspired by extremely many genres! We have so many weird ideas we wanna put to life! And we will do!. Our band name were made after Simeon heared his friend got in a delirious state before she passed. After that he came up with the name, Dark Delirium."

2. What do you want people to take away from your music?

"We want people get an impact by our music. We wanna make music that makes people headbang, scream, play music themselves, get shocked, suprised, happy and so on. We want people to feel from our music, maybe even help as others music has helped us."

3. How would you describe your sound to the average listener?

"Funny question! We'll try to answer that as good as possible! The listeners we have, have not really found one spesific genre so far! And we don't care about genres, we play music we think sounds good for ourselvs and publish it! But so far listeners have commented our style to be mostly Metalcore/Melodic Death Metal and Thrash Metal. We love to discover new areas of playing and will are currently trying out a several new styles for our second album!"

4. Who are three bands you’d like to tour with?

There is to many bands to pick three! We'd love to tour with any band that would have us! But top 3 would probably be Slipknot, Korn & Rammstein.

5. How has Covid affected what you do as a band?

Pretty good actually! We hate Covid, but if Covid didn't happen we would probably never start the band. At the same time we hate to see what Covid is doing to the live scene. It's terrible to see all the bands out there struggling because of what it've done to their economy!

6. What’s your take on the current state of Metal?

"The state of Metal is great! There is so much music thats being made and released form old and new bands! Metal will just grow, and grow, and grow!"

7. What’s the current music scene like there in Norway?

The Norwegian metal scene is good, its heavy with alot of heavy bands, i'd say black metal is still probably one of the biggest genres here, but metal in general in Norway is really well recieved and people respect the genre.

8. What’s your take on the royalties that streaming services pay out to artists?

Well. It's low. It's hard to be a new band these days, and to make enough profit to make a living from it. The good thing is that it is so many music enthusiasts out there that buys music in physicall format, merch and go to live shows! Hopefully one day the streaming services will pay more fairly, but until then, you just gotta be where music is listened.

9. What’s next for Dark Delirium?

We are in the recording of our second album! Now we just got to record the last half of the vocals on the album, and then its just mix and mastering left! We believe that the album will be ready soon enough to release in the end of this year! Two albums in one year, and we got so many ideas for more albums! We hope to begin playing live soon to!

9. What’s next for Dark Delirium?

We have started playing live and are soon done with our second album. As soon as the second is done we will start on the third one as we have several songs ready to be written.
