Sounds like: Metal
From: Mississippi

1. How did you get started with music and how did you develop your sound? Who thought of the name "Encircled Throne" and is there any meaning behind it?

We have all been playing for years, in and out of the scene so the sound has been developing over many years and just being overall metal fans from the what is considered now the old school to all the new stuff and each variation. Some of the titles were written over ten years ago, but most have been written over the last year just playing and writing what we like and not worrying about sticking to specific style. The name is “Encircled Throne” comes from the book in the Bible revelations: 4:3 where it states about about an encircled throne, depending on the translation you look up and thought it’d make a great name.

2. What do you want people to take away from your music?

Hopefully they take away enjoyment as they listen and a connection to the music and meaning behind them.

3. How would you describe your sound to the average listener?

Metal? Haha, always have trouble answering this one. I feel we take just the overall pieces of some genres of metal and combine them into one. So just metal.

4. Who are three bands you’d like to tour with?

Brand of Sacrifice, Impending Doom and Korn.

5. How has Covid affected what you do?

For us it hasn’t really hurt much as the band members have all just now started coming together and getting ready to play shows.

6. What’s your take on the current state of Metal?

Love it, love how metal is evolving into all its different forms and seeing where it’s heading.

7. What's the current music scene like there in Colorado?

Unfortunately, not the biggest anymore like it once was.

8. What’s your take on the royalties that streaming services pay out to artists?

As most would say I’m sure, it’s not the best but could be worse. Of course, it’d be nice to make more but the world is definitely different now with people not buying hard copies of the music anymore.

9. What’s next for Encircled Throne?

Next up, promote and get to booking some shows. Also the end of the year hope to put out our first full length album.

10. Any shoutouts?

Local Band Smokeout and From the Depths Entertainment. Those guys are pretty awesome with what they are doing for the underground scene.
