For those of you who don't know, Victory has pretty much gone through a makeover the past couple years. Good or bad, they're still a great label with up and coming bands. A Day To Remember is a very unique band in the sense that you cant really pigeonhole them in a genre. As the promo for the CD suggests "If you like pop but you like to mosh". That's about right. A Day To Remember has always been called pop-core (if there would be such a thing). Their last album "And Their Name Was Treason" was a cult classic on Indianola Records.

Anyways, on to the new CD. The first track "Fast Forward To 2012" is a great intro for what's to come. It's short, simple and to the point. The second track "Speak Of The Devil" is an upbeat song that has a very catchy chorus. "I'm on the edge of the rootop, thinking nobody will ever know, I know you want to be the one to see the distance from the road". The songs "The Danger In Starting A Fire", "The Plot To Blow Up The Panhandle", and "A Shot In The Dark" are all listenable on ADTR's Myspace and E-Card. They have a little break in the CD with the song "The Price We Play", an acoustic song. Once the song gets done, the breakdowns kick back in. The song "I Heard It's The Softest Thing Ever" has an opening riff very reminscent of the Deftones. That is until the verse kicks in and its all double bass and fast guitars. Sing alongs, breakdowns, catchy choruses, lyrics about relationships and life, they're all here in abundance and that's not a bad thing.

Verdict -
If you want catchy songs that will stick in your head for days and you like your music hard, definatly pick this up. While you're out, pick up their debut CD on Indianola. A Day To Remember is a great up and coming band that has a very bright future.
