1. How did you get started with music and how did you develop your sound? Who thought of the name “Misthaven” and is there any meaning behind it?

Everything happened by chance. Eleonora (keyboards) and Tito (guitar) were talking around music preferences, so they wondered why not to start writing music together. But the songwriting was not enough: music needs to be played, so Francesca (voice) and Alessandro (bass) joined the band. It was really hard to pick a name for the group, something that could represent our idea of music. We worked on it all together. “Misthaven” comes out from the combination of two words “mist” and “haven”, which means a shelter in the fog. That's what music is: our shelter from the chaos which is all around us.

2. What do you want listeners to take away from your acoustic "Bleed" EP?

Dave Grohl once said “that's one of the great things about music. You sing a song to 85,000 people and they'll sing it back for 85,000 different reasons”. That's what we want listeners to take away from our “Bleed” EP: their emotions, their experiences, their feelings. Music has the meaning the listener gives to it.

3. What can people expect from your live show?

We're just people and we're going to take stage as people with one main aim: let the audience feel every heartbeat we experience at every note we play.

4. What's your favorite track to play live?

There's no favorite track. Every song has its story and its reasons to be performed live.

5. Who are three bands you’d like to tour with?

Hard to choose just three..Evanescence, Halestorm and Alter Bridge!

6. Any crazy show stories?

Yet to come..

7. What’s your take on the current state of rock?

Who said "Rock is dead"? In a recent interview Gene Simmons declared he is sorry for young guitarists, who can only aspire to play in some talent shows as Rock has been killed. We don't think so. It's maybe that old school Rock retired, giving way to a new style with new features, but Rock is definitely not dead. Rock developed and it's fully alive..and we dare say, it's going to be run by women!

8. What’s the current music scene like there in Italy both locally and country wide?

Well, it's hard to define a real local music scene, as we come out from a really little country, which shows really a few unpublished bands. We definitely don't have a real music scene over here. Talking about Italy country wide, we call ourselves so critical about the national music scene: Italy appears to be really far from being open to music styles and genres which are different from its standards. There are a lot of Alternative bands spread around the country, but it's really hard for them to get the chance to emerge.

9. What’s your take on legal/illegal music downloading?

You know, nowadays the illegal music downloading gives everyone the chance to listen to a big amount of music they wouldn't have get interested in if they had to buy it. But as a band we need to specify the legal downloading is what makes music a real job. So people, it's okay to illegally download music, but at least buy the stuff you like! Your idols will appreciate it!

10. What’s next for Misthaven?

First of all, we're so excited to have joined the From The Depths roster and we can't wait to start our journey with this record label! Then, we're focusing on practicing for the next live shows and writing new songs for the upcoming debut album. Hard work on its way!

11. Any shoutouts?
