The Alabama based Metal band Atlas recently changed their name to Skybearer. This is the first single from the group with the new name and boy, is it a doozy. The track starts off with atmospheric tones and vocals to help set the mood. AFter the near two minute intro, the meat of the track blasts right in with a healthy dose of Metal. Crushing breakdowns galore transpire when the track really lets loose. There's a dash of Death Metal on the track for good measure. The track overall really sets a high bar for whatever comes after it in terms of new music from the group.
Verdict:
Skybearer show no mercy with their seven minute long "Gatekeeper" single.
